What Little Things Do I Need After Surgery?
I found a heat pad very helpful and some sugar free candy/sweets etc to suck on if u are allowed I am a little concerned that u say u will set up 'camp' in your room .. to be honest u need to start moving arolund as soon as u are able to, this not only helps with the gas but also prevents things like DVT from forming, so walking to the bathroom is a good thing Some people return to work within the week some dont feel like it but we all recover at different rates so just do what u can as often as possible !

Embarrssing Bathroom Issue
I think a lot of people on here have started using a stool softener and given the sort of problem u have it sounds like it might be helpful to you .. if not more natural remedies can help like prune juice and dtrinking plenty of water ..

I Suck!
Sounds like u are bored or inactive of an evening and that is when your mind starts playing tricks on you, i know if i sit around after my evening meal just watching tv i get head hungry so i dont do it, i set my exercise bike up in front of the tv get a few sugar free sweets/candy to suck on and i cycle ,, go for a walk, get to the gym or just do something to take your mind off food. Drink plenty of fluids and dont have temptation food in the house. Do you need a fill ?

Just Got My Surgery Date And Am Really Scared!!!
Everyone goes through the scared phase of this process, i think most will have sat down and thought about not living through the operation. What u need to concentrate on is doing exactly what your doctor has advised u to do, and to concentrate on the fact that this is a minor operation, normally no more than 45 mins to 1 hour, its keyhole surgery and u can home soon afterwards.. What u need to do is put it into perspective in the grand scheme of things, u are more at risk being obese with all the medical complications than ever you are having a band fitted .. and yes sometimes things do go wrong with the band, but i am prepared to have mine removed if that happens and that is the good thing about the band, it is removeable .. so look after yourself and your band and no reason why this shouldnt be a great success for you ..

Who Dat Man?
Awesome before and after pictures, well done on the hard work

Calorie Vs. Carbs
I agree entirely with Mis73, some, like me, cant lose any weight at all eating more than about 50 carbs a day at most, i also dont eat more than 1000 calories, no reason why u cant adjust both carbs and calories.. I also have to burn more calories than i eat by exercising, intially it was easier to lose wieght as i was very heavy, now i fight for every lb but i know how to fight .. make yourself the 'expert' on you and that way u learn lessons that will last you your whole life.

Getting Discourage. Is This Going To Work For Me
Sometimes its not the number of fills its the amount of fill they put in, u dont mention how much fill u have in your band, dont get discouraged, the closer u are to the green zone the smallest of fills can make a big difference. This is a slow mo way to lose weight, but slow and steady is good so dont get discouraged go back and get another fill if u need one .. good luck

Avoid Gaining Weight When With Mushies???
lots of low calorie/low fat/low sugar mushy food will see u ok .. this time is for healing u 'might' put on weight but its not disaster if u do, be patient with your body and let it heal, then u can go to town on it by exercising it

Hello All...

Newly Banded. Day 3 Of Post Op Diet
You did return to work quite early so am not surprised u may have bled a little, just be careful and let your wounds heal before u do anything physical, u might need to just sit as your desk and do nothing clear liquids arent designed to make u feel full, they are designed to help your healing process and not put any stress onto your stomach, you arent alone with feeling the way u do many bandsters intially feel like that .. but all of u need to get into the mind set that this isnt about feeling full, its about giving your body a chance to heal and doing what your doctor advised u to stick with it and it will all work out in the end ... drinking fluids puts no stress on the band so drink away ! A good liquid to help u feel more satisfied is mixing some skimmed milk with some greek yoghurt and maybe some sweetner in it, good for u and protein and u can make as liquid as u need ! it will help fill a hunger hole anyways

My Surgent Had Lap Band
Nice! at least he will have some empathy and be full of good advice

Hello From Middle Ga
Look at what health problems u will be facing if u dont lose the weight .. having a lapband is classed as a minor proceedure that there is no reason why u should have a dificult time
-
Slip
Symptoms are different with everyone who has a slip, in general u may experience a sudden amount of restriction that u never felt before, reflux, pain, sickness slips arent common if u are concerned u should contact your doctor.

Tummy Tuck???
Theres a few of us on here who have undergone a TT and other proceedures to help with the excess skin , mine was 3 weeks ago i am doing well, if u have loose skin the only help in reality is surgery ... genetics, weight, age, and how muchinitially weighed etc how much u lose, are all factors in getting loose skin so u may be facing surgery if u cant live with it ... look on the cosmetic surgery forum plenty of pics there too

Another Newbie To The Site
If you arent able to eat solid food then u need to return to your doctor, it may well be that u still need some fluid removed from your band. The relief u will feel when u can eat failry normally is worth the effort it will take on your part to restrict yourself on the amount of food u eat. It does sound like u are too tight and that in its self can cause u not to lose weight as u tend to eat more slider foods as this is all u can eat.. good luck .......you need to get back to doctor !

Got My Surgery Date...woohoo
Great news .. hope the surgery goes well for you ..

Frustrated And Down
The damage and physical risks of being obese, constant yoyo dieting and all the life threatening complications that go with obesity far outweigh any complications that the band may have .. to me the lapband is the best thing i have ever done, if ever there are complications i will have it removed .. I love my band

Smelly Burps -
I think a quick phone call to your surgeon may be in order, u may need to get a small unfill if any food is stuck or they may know exactly what the problem is .. good luck ..
