1. Hotel Lucerna looks so beautiful. I'll see you there. I come in Thursday and my surgery is Friday morning.
2. I know nothing about this however, I see your having your surgery on Thursday by Dr. Kelly. I'm having mine on Friday. I've been searching for a sleeve buddy but couldn't find anyone around my date. Are you going alone?
3. My grandmother my favorite person on this world. I understand your love for her. However, please don't sell the ring. What's meant to be will be. If you truly need this surgery and God knows it will change your life. The money is going to come regardless. He will make a way for you. All I can suggest is finding a loan company if your father can't provide the amount for you, but I'd be sad if you gave up something so beautiful. Best of Luck!
4. There's some good surgeons in Mexico who are cheap. At alighterme.com there is Dr. Lopez-Ortega. He has a package deal with hospital stay+hotel stay, pre-op testing, free transportation, free calls to the US & more for only $5,000. The next cheapest I know is Dr. Almanza. I've heard great things about him. He is $5200. I'm going to Dr.Kelly. He has been doing this procedure almost 10 years. His cost is $5,500. If your dad can give you around 2500 you'll be good to go.
5. I know how you feel. I wouldn't give up the only thing you have to hold from her. That is important to you, and I bet once you give it away you'll miss it. Have you tried looking at no patient left behind. If you have half of the money for surgery they will pay the other half for you.
6. Yes, I'm having surgery on Friday. Keep me in your prayers. Thank You.
7. Congrats on your sleeve! I have PCOS. I've had this annoying syndrome since I was 13. I'm so happy that this surgery and other WLS helps but the annoying side effects into remission.
8. Hi Fat4now. I actually used to live in Charlotte for a while. I went to JWU downtown. I still go there often to visit my best friend. I'm having my procedure done in mexico. My insurance covered the procedure however, I would have had to switch the plan I was on, and have to wait the 6 months that you're doing now. I'm somewhat impatient and didn't want to go that route. I waited two months and saved up for Dr. Kelly in Tijuana. He's one of the cheaper Doctors but has been doing this procedure for 9 years. Best of luck on your 6 month diet. I really hope that the insurance approves you.
9. I'm glad that there a sleeve forum for people my age . I'm 21 and I'm getting sleeved this friday. I'm so excited yet so nervousa
10. I went to the passport agency on Thursday. I just showed them my itinerary to san diego then told them i was driving to mexico. I paid the $195 and my passport will be ready on wed.
11. what death are you talking about?
12. To my knowledge you can not go into mexico without a passport. The only way you can go without one is if you bring the receipt for your passport. that way they know that you have attempted to get your passport but it just didn't arrive in time. Even with the receipt you will need a birth certificate or a drivers license.
13. If anyone can answer this it would be very helpful. I'm trying to calculate how much money I'll need to save after having my VSG.
14.

Try going to Obesityhelp.com on the VSG forum. i've talked to a few July 13th sleevers. I don't know of anyone going into surgery the same day as me, but I have sleeve buddies that are going either a week before or a week after me. We've promised to keep each other updated on our progress.
15. I was orginally going to Dr. Aceves but now I'm going to Dr. Kelly in Tijuana. It was cheaper than Dr. Aceves and If i can save even a dollar I'd go for it. Tijuana doesn't have the best rep but I've talk to several of Dr. Kelly's patients and they've told me that they never had any incidence, or witnessed any violence. I've told my mother to simply drop the topic. She told me today that she's going to get insurance for me, so when I die she'll get some money. smh. She's never been supportive of ANYTHING i do so this is not a surprise to me. I'm thankful for Obesityhelp.com and this website for letting me talk to such positive people. I'd be lost if I never found these two websites.
16. i'm going to Dr. Kelly in Tijuana on the 8th of next month. I'll keep you updated on how things go. So far i've only heard lovely things about him, and I'm excited to go. He cost 5,500 which was what caught my attention but before i learned about Dr. Kelly I was going to have surgery with Dr. Aceves. He is also an amazing doctor. I'm just trying to save as much as I can because I plan to have plastic surgery and I'm trying not to spend more than 12 or 13,000 for this whole experience.
17. I'm going to Dr. Kelly on the 7th and my surgery is on the 8th. I'm suppose to be home by the 12th. I have a couple July 13th buddies but it would be great to have someone going the same time I am. I wish everyone luck on their surgeries and can't wait to here the updates. I'm so excited. I literally can't stop thinking about getting sleeved. It even dream about it when i sleep. I'm an addict.
18. Yeah lol i do have some crazy family members. The only one who truly supports my decision is my grandmother. She's my favorite person on the planet. I wouldn't know what I do if she wasn't here. She told me there is violence in Mexico but she thinks I will be safe and to continue with my surgery. I haven't found anyone having surgery on the same day as me. I'm having my procedure done on july 8th but I've found a lot of July 13th people. I'm thinking about moving my surgery back just to be with one of them lol. The thing is the ticket is cheaper if i get it done on the 8th then it would be for the 13th. I'm trying to save money but I guess I really can't.
19. I'm having surgery in a few weeks and my mother is everything but supportive. I told her I was having surgery but never told her that I was having my procedure done in Mexico. She basically told me to go a head and kill myself. My cousin also added into the conversation to spice it up like a hype man. They have me really scared to go. Telling me that Mexican in the drug cartel kill americans for our passports. I'm very ignorant to world news. I don't even watch the local news because she there's nothing good on it. I haven't heard of this whole war between Mexicans and Americans. I told her to stop being negative but I'm scared now thinking that although many people have gone to dr. kelly and have nothing happen to them, but what if that day isn't my lucky day and I'm abducted. Maybe I'm over reacting... *sigh* I wish i never told her where I was going and just did what I had to do. What sucks even more is i'm going alone by myself.
20. I'm going alone as well. I'll be having surgery July 8th.
