  1. I am newly banded and eating solids now. I had a defill in my first week due to swelling and not keeping down liquids. I feel if I wanted to, I can eat anything and everything still. I follow the 1 cup a food rule but sometimes it's hard to measure combo foods such as a bean burrito. Today I made 2 pieces of toast out of habit but only ate one. If I overeat because the band is not stopping me, am I still stretching it or would I feel it if I was over doing it? Most days I eat slowly but sometimes too quickly. Maybe I need to just measure more carefully and eat in front of a clock LOL Any newbie tricks or advice would be great. I want to start off with good habits but just don't feel the restriction to help me.
  2. How many calories do you aim for in a day and how many grams of protein. I find I'm 2 weeks out of surgery now and the calories are slowly creeping up.
  3. I kept taking benefibre in my water until it slid right out, it only took 2 individual serving size packets to work.
  4. A Do you eat mostly healthy food with a few treats here and there? B Do you eat all healthy food and NO treats/trigger foods until you've reached goal? C Do you eat what you want just in smaller portions? I'm wondering if people who do choice B and are very strict lose weight faster or if it really is calories in, calories out, so it doesn't really matter what you choose?
  5. How much of your weight loss success is based on exercise? I'm 2 weeks post op and not exercising yet but wonder how important it is at my current weight of 350?
  6. Sometimes the band can be too tight and cause eating issues as well. I wouldn;t give up until the doctor gets to the bottom of it and finds your sweet spot. OR You could get a defill for a while and try again in a few months.
