  5. I feel for you. I had to wait two years until Medicare covered the sleeve for my surgery which is on April 10th. Just breathe and know all of the test are necessary to ensure a good outcome from the surgery. You'll be sleeved soon and You'll have the comfort of knowing all the bases have been covered. Good luck to you!
  6. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I'm having my surgery on April 10th. Good luck!
  7. My surgery date is April 10th and I'm just scared about the unkown. I haven't had any thoughts about backing out of it, which is good. Good luck to all of you!
  8. I'm glad to hear it's only a minimum of 10-15 minutes an hour I need to move around for. I had images in my mind of walking laps around my house for hours while in pain.
  9. I just wanted to thank you all for replying to my SOS. I have taken all of your advice to heart and it has brought me a lot of comfort. The worry thoughts are still present but now they aren't in the forethought of my mind so much. I realize grieving about forever is black and white thinking and just another form of self sabatoge just like Juny wrote. I want to be successful with the sleeve and I know this sleeve community will be a big part of any success I may have. Thanks!
  10. I'm 23 days away from surgery and I have really began to grieve my former relationship with food. At this time, I just can't imagine a world where I will never be able to eat certain foods again. I'm an emotional eater and food has brought me comfort throughout my life but at great expense to my health. I've done the Atkins diet before and I was very successful losing 180lbs. I was on 20g of carbs a day all from vegetables but I gained it all back after reintroducing carbs (good and bad) back into my diet. I fear the sleeve's low-carb postop diet/lifestyle may not work for me and I won't be able to keep the weight off. I'm in counseling for my emotional eating but sometimes it just doesn't seem like it's going to be enough. Did any of you have concerns about your ability to follow a low-carb postop diet forever?
  11. My surgery is in April and I'm a bit nervous too, especially after watching a video of an actual surgery. I'm sending positive thoughts your way for a complication free surgery and speedy recovery.
  12. I don't have any advice for post surgery because my surgery isn't until April 10th. I just wanted to wish you good luck on your journey ahead and I look forward to seeing you on the loser's bench.
  13. Hello Brooke, My surgery is scheduled for April 10th and I am excercising everyday in order to make it a habit and to get in shape for my recovery.
  14. I want to cut my hair short but I'll wait until after surgery so I can wear braids in the hospital.
  15. I know what you mean about being able to buy off the rack, I can't wait either. Just think about how healthy you'll be and all of the clothing store sale that are in your future. My surgery is in April and I'm excited and nervous too. Good luck!
  16. My surgery date is April 10th.
  17. I'm from Portland and I'm getting sleeved on April 10th.
  18. You are an inspiration. My surgery date is on April 10th and I have at least 225 lbs to lose in order to reach a normal weight. I sometimes question whether the sleeve will be a powerful enough tool but stories like yours puts my mind at ease. I can't wait to join you on the loser's bench. Keep up the good work!
  19. I have Medicare and supplemental insurance; I was approved for surgery. My surgery date is April 8th and I live in Oregon. I believe there is an age limit on the proceedure; Medicare will only pay for those 60 or younger. The MAC for Oregon is Noridian.
  20. Hello, I waited two years for my surgery. I'm scheduled for April 10th. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I can't wait until it's finally over and I can claim my spot on the loser's bench. Good luck to all the April Sleevers!
