  1. Congratulations on your journey and good luck!

  6. Here is a link to Medicare's sleeve gastrectomy coverage map. I hope it helps. http://asmbs.org/wp-content/uploads/SleeveCoverage1.png
  7. I'm pre-op and I have bought a case of Premier Protein shakes for post-op. I hope the smell doesn't make me sick after surgery as well. I also bought Unjury vanilla, chicken soup, and unflavored just in case. I hope you find something that doesn't make you nauseous.
  8. Hello, I'm Yoli. My surgery is scheduled for April 10th and I'm glad I was able to read through this thread before surgery. Thanks!
  9. My surgery is scheduled for April 10th. I wish you good luck and a speedy recovery.
  10. Congratulations! Your surgery is two days after mine.
  11. Today was my pre-op class and I felt like I was so much more ahead of the game than some of the other people attending. The only thing I can say is thank you to this forum and everyone who posts. Some people in the class had no idea they would need protein shakes after surgery. Thanks to you all I have ordered my Unjury and Premier shakes. I also have a pretty good idea of what to expect after surgery. I'm just blessed to have found this site.
  12. Good luck and a speedy recovery!
  13. Hello and congratulations on your surgery date!

  16. Yes, it was hard to lose the weight but not impossible. I have meet my pre-op weight loss goal. I'm currently on my pre-op diet and today I was surrounded by pizza but I didn't cheat. I can't wait until April 10th.
  17. My physical therapist says the scale only shows one thing, how many pound you've lost. It doesn't take into consideration muscle mass built with excercise and so forth. I know it's easier said than done but don't give your scale all the power. Take a look at the whole picture. Have you been excercising? I think 5 lbs a week is a fabulous achievement.
  18. I'm pre-op, so I don't really have any tips for you. I just wanted to say good luck!
  19. I had to lose 25 lbs before surgery as well. You can do it, good luck!
  20. I have a ton of "what ifs" running through my head and they will probably continue right up until they wheel me into the operating room. What gets me through these moments is the realization that I'm doing the best thing for my health. I'm just taking one day at a time and trusting Lord God will see me through. I wish you the best.
  21. Their comments say less about you and more about them. Keep your head up; you're doing all the right things for a healthy you!
  22. I'm sorry to hear about your band. I have Medicare and it will pay 80% of the cost for my surgery. I'm not sure how much you'll have to pay; I would call Medicare Complete and ask for details.
