First time posting on this site. Was looking into the band, and doc seems to lean to the sleeve, so I have been doing some research and I think he is right! I am with you about my employer not knowing. It is none of their business!! Remember there are HIPPA laws, but they still think they own you! Good idea to ask PCP for the note to be off work. I am planning on telling my employer having hiatal hernia repaired!

What was the pain with your hiatal hernia? I know mine with be repaired.

Hi Haiza, when Dr Z did you fill did he numb the area first? Did he have any problems hitting the port the first time the needle went in? Any info you can give me about him would be great!

Has Dr Zainabadi given you a fill yet? I have UHC with the bariatric exclusion!

So far my I have attempted 1 seminar. Talked to a doc out of network and found out when I choose out of network my insurance pays 10%. Gotta love insurance! So I have decided to check in network on docs and have been quoted overr the phone from 13k to 16k, and insurance won't pay any of it, so I will have to finance ..... I am still making calls to in network docs and I have an appt with Dr Eric Pham on 8/29. He does procedures in Orange and Irvine. The are no in network docs in the High Desert where I live. I hate to have to drive so far, but it won't be every day, so I will deal with it.

Any info of cost and doctors. It is all running together.

I will be a cash patient and my insurance does not cover any bariatrics. He is in-network as a surgeon so I am thinking if he is in-network he must be decent.

I'm going to go talk to Dr Eric Pham. If anyone has used him, how is he?

Not all docs are on this site. I figure each individual doctor's sight would only have positive not negative feedback. If you can think of any other sights to check, I would appreciate it......

It is so hard for me finding a doctor. Doctors in-network for me are Philip Chin, Kelly Francis, Atif Iqbal, Thomas Nguyen, Sami Hamamji, Mark Minkes, Eric Pham, Philippe Quilici, Kevin Reavis and Kambiz Zainabadi. They show in-network, however otherss that I have call who show that they are in-network no longer are! it is so frustrating.... I have e-mailed doctors and they have not returned my e-mails and I have called only to get transferred around and then I am out of time because I am on my lunch hour at work. If anyone knows anything about these doctors I would appreciate all the info I can get. PLEASE HELP!!!

What is Dr Naim's first name? Where is he located?

Hi Haizea--how did your surgery go with Dr Z? Have you had any fills yet? He is a doc that is in-network with my insurance so I thought I would make an appt with him. But with the comment from Puppypaws57, he doesn't sound like a doc I would want and sounds like he hasn't done many bands.... Curios to hear of your experience with him.

Anyone use Dr Troy Lamar in Arcadia, CA or Dr David Martin in Pasadena, CA? I would appreciate any comments you are willing to share:)

I have met Dr T (as he is known) and he is a very, very nice man. I have a friend who used him and has only good things to say about him. My friend never even feels him put the needle in to fill her, and is at the port everytime with no numbing! I spoke with patients in his office who also say he is the greatest and they would never go to anyone else. I have not chosed a doc yet, am still surching because this is out of pocket for me. Anyone use Dr Tashjian? Please give feedback, I am still checking out Docs before I make my decision of who I will choose. Thanks for all the help I can get!
