  1. I feel the same way. I hate jello and I even resorted to having that because I could sort of chew it!
  2. There is actually a psychology behind guys who like heavy girls and a lot of it has to do with a sense of control over the girl because of her lower self esteem. The knowing that the girl feels like at her size she is happy to have someone. I would say it's a good time to really establish a stronger basis for your love for each other beyond outward appearance...
  3. My insurance doesnt cover me to stay overnight so I wondered how awful it is to go straight home... Glad to hear it isn't bad!
  4. Did you have to stay overnight?
  5. I love my Myoplex shakes. Havent seen anyone else on this board say they are drinking them but I think they have the best taste of the ones I tasted...
  6. EAS Myoplex. I bought the chocolate and vanilla from The Vitamin Shoppe online because they were $2 each!
  7. You should try the Myoplex ones.
  8. Who here had the surgery and left the hospital the same day? How has your recovery been?
  9. That is my motivation as well! Ella is 18 months tomorrow and Eitan is 7 years Enjoy them!
  10. I am finding I really like my protein shakes (and the fact that they only cost $2 each doesnt hurt!) For those doing shakes, what kind are you having and are you mixing it yourself or getting the already made ones?
  11. How old are your boys? Just think how much more they will appreciate the roomier lap after they can sit in it!
  12. I don't know if I am starving as much as I just wish I could CHEW something! What are the parameters of your pre-op diet? I am also being banded on June 30th.
  13. I can definitely relate to your frustration of having siblings who are overweight but have not yet fully come to the realization that we have that this is not going to just go away on its own, through willpower, etc. There is a genetic factor involved and obesity is a disease that does not just go away because you wish it to. My mother is in the hospital as I write this tipping the scales at 600 pounds, and my sisters know this. However, I don't see either of them making drastic changes like you and I have chosen to do. I guess what I am trying to say is that it all boils down to a personal choice. My mother always said she would die when she dies and has no interest in self preservation (hence her size) and I firmly believe that there is nothing that we could do short of sedating her and having the surgery done against her will. The same is true with our respective siblings. Until THEY want to, don't beat yourself up that they aren't. Just push yourself more to show how good you feel and look and how happy you are after the surgery is over. Maybe that will be the inspiration your sister needs to go for it!
  14. Are you talking about the Protein shakes or just liquifying everything you eat before the surgery?
  15. I would say that I would have had no problem doing the psych over the phone but the nutritionist handed me a lot of materials that we reviewed together and I got a lot out of being there in person. HTH!
  16. I am an online shopaholic, don't have as much time to shop in the stores! But I have a feeling that once I figure out my correct size and really start creating a new wardrobe that it will be super fun to shop in both places Have you started your liquid diet yet?
  17. I'm also joining late! Not sure if I should be in this group or the July one but both seem super friendly! My surgery date is June 30 and I am on a 2 week liquid diet - Myoplex all the way.
  18. My surgery is June 30. Can I be part of this July 2011 group?
  19. I was actually thinking of doing something similar but decided that I would rather try it on in the store (which will be a cool concept as is) and maybe I will find I even need a smaller size!
  20. Hi all. My name is Nechama and I am getting banded on June 30th. I am a vegetarian (which I have a feeling may make things easier when it comes time to eat solids again!) and an Orthodox Jew. Looking forward to sharing this journey...
