  1. I wouldn't let anyone that is not licensed to mess with my back. Go to the chiropractor and ask for a back adjustment.
  2. I had surgery 15 years ago and it took a while for the anesthesia to wear off and I felt like crap. They have made lots of advancements since then and it was like nothing waking up. You will be just fine!
  3. lmao! I wish I lost that much having sex!! Btw, congrats on the weight loss!
  4. I was diagnosed last October and they had wanted to start me on Metformin but I refused because I wanted to diet. Dieting didn't work so I was at the point where I was going to have to go on both diabetes and cholesterol medicine right before I had my band. I'm so glad I avoided that! Good luck to you as well!
  5. I went for a follow up visit with my primary care doctor to go over my cholesterol and A1c results. My cholesterol is 150! It hasn't been under 200 in years!! Bad cholesterol, good cholesterol and even triglycerides are ALL normal! But the BEST part of all was that my A1c (which measures diabetes) went from 6.4 to 5.3. Anything below 5.9 is normal. My doctor said I am no longer considered diabetic!! I can't believe how much of a difference the band has made in such a short time. Its like a miracle!! Yay, I feel so great!
  6. Wow, I can't wait to be you! Great story, congrats on your success so far!
  7. When I get to goal I'm going to get a whole new wardrobe and a Coach purse. When I get under 200 I'm going to get new designer eyeglasses.
  8. Ooh, thanks for posting this! I'm going to try some of tips, especially the chipotle bowl!
  9. I didn't have a pre op diet, not even the day before. I was just told not to eat after midnight. Also the doctor let me drink whatever Protein shake I preferred. Good luck to you!
  10. That's awesome! Congrats!!
  11. Oh wow!! How scary & unnerving! I hope the antibiotics kick in and the "orange" disappears!
  12. Unless you are on blood thinners, or even use lots of advil, then that is odd. I'd probably ask my PCP if I were you.
  13. That's awesome, Congrats!! I can't wait to say the same.
  14. Lmao! That first sneeze is a killer!
  15. That's awesome! Congrats, I can't wait to be rid of my muffin top!
  16. I have 6 incisions, my port incision is about 2.5 inches, all the others are little and one opened up and healed weird. Looks like a big scab. I'm almost 3 wks post op and the port site doesn't hurt unless I try to massage it or something.
  17. I guess it does feel like I am loving my food more (in the small amt that I am allowed). Though today I noticed that people around me also make me feel guilty about what I eat. For lunch I had a chicken & spinach sausage (3 oz) on a whole grain lite roll (1.5 oz), with a spoon of turkey chili and a sprinkle of low fat shredded cheese. It was 5.5 oz total, but someone at work remarked " I'm surprised you are able to eat ALL of that". WTH?? My surgeon says I can eat between 4-6 oz, why make me feel like crap about my meal? Ugh, I'm just frustrated I guess.
  18. Hi, I don't know what's wrong with me but everytime I eat a meal I feel guilty. Maybe I am enjoying it too much? Maybe I feel like I should be 'suffering' more? I eat the amts the surgeon wants me & haven't gone over and I started exercising today. I just have this feeling like I am missing something. Does anybody get guilt with eating?? How do I make it go away?
  19. I have no problems with eggs, but then again, I haven't had a fill yet. I hope I can still say the same in the future, I can't imagine my breakfast with no egg!
  20. Please be careful not to hurt yourself with "testing the band". I'm a self pay too and the thought of having to pay for complications scares me even more! To tell you the truth, I don't really know how much I can actually eat (if I tried) b/c I'm just following my doctor's instructions for now. Try to have a back up plan for when you think something might trip you up. I usually take naps or go to sleep early if I know that I am too tempted by food. Maybe calling a friend, going shopping or taking a drive might clear your head. Hang in there!
  21. Whatever you do don't watch the food channel!
  22. How big are these 3 bites?? My surgeon wants all me to get 3 meals or less per day. Each meal should be between 4-6 ounces, and calories should be about 1200. I have to eat my Protein first and work on leaving food on my plate (that hasn't happened yet; I eat every morsel that I serve myself).
  23. Sorry you are so miserable. I would talk to the surgeon and see if you can get a fill.
