    Gas & More Gas.....

I have been noticing I seem to get worse when I drink very cold liquids so I am going to try and stick to either hot or room temp.
  4. I was sleeved on Wedneday. Feeling okay but oh so gassy. Will this rumblling & gurgling ever stop?
  5. Hi All……. It’s so comforting to know there are others like myself (62 in December) who have made the decision to have WLS and I only wish you all the best! I haven’t been on this site in awhile. I have just completed all of my pre op testing and will be signing my consent next week. Then hope & pray my insurance company will approve. I am hoping for a surgery date of November 17th. So tell me…..Did any of you feel anxious and apprehensive right before your surgery? For me, during the last six months this day seemed like it would never come. Now that I am almost there I have begun to question myself, is this is the right thing for me? Am I doing the right thing? I know it’s just my nerves talking. The quality of my life right now really stinks and if and when I plan to retire, I would love to be able to live out the rest of my life to its fullest. Ellen
  6. Thank you soooo much and I will take a "rain check" on those questions.....
  7. Hi. Suzanne, Thank you so much for sharing. So many of us have questions, upon questions, upon questions, and it’s great when people like yourself share your story. We truly are on a journey and hearing from someone like yourself, who has already gone and come back really is comforting. I was especially glad to know that someone who was around my age has had great success. I am 61 and will hopefully be sleeved in November.

    HELLO

This site is starting to feel like family to me, so I guess it’s time to formally introduce myself. My name is Ellen. I am 61 years old and three months into the process. I still have another three months to go before all the paper work can be submitted and hopefully approved. I had my Psych session today, which went well. I already had the stress, echo, and endoscopy. Still have a few more tests to do before I’m finished. I truly find this site to be both insightful as well as comforting. It’s great to know there’s a place to go where you can be encouraged and have your questions answered by those who are going through or have gone through the process already. I have had a few of my questions answered already and have been able to put my mind at ease. I’m sure I’ll have many more. Thanks!

    Call for "seniors"

That’s great! When were you sleeved?........My BMI is just at 40, so I really can’t start to lose weight until I have been approved. As of right now I don’t have any underlying conditions that would allow for a lower BMI so I was told to just maintain my current weight at this time. In the meantime I am going to explore different shakes and Protein powders and find one I like so I’ll be ready.

    Call for "seniors"

I am 61. I happen to have a high tolerance for pain but I guess hearing "morphine" sort of freaked me out. Thanks for your input.
  13. I would really love for some “seniors” to share some of their experiences. For example, your recovery after surgery, and maybe your progress since surgery. My insurance requires six months of doctor visits before approval. So, I still have three months to go and am still in the process of completing all the required test. I’ve been pouring over all the posts in the forums and I guess becoming a little apprehensive, especially in the area of recovery. I guess my biggest fear is the hours following surgery. I’m reading about morphine drips, etc. and wondering how much pain I can expect…honesty, please! .

    Sleeve vs. Band

Making a decision for wls is hard enought but chooing the right surgery is even harder. You guys have really helped with your replies. I'll keep you posed as I still have a few months before all my test and approval is complete.
