  1. I'm drinking a bit more than every 15 minutes, but should slow down. I am not doing any Vitamins yet. I had some yogurt last night and it seemed to help. That and Gas-x strips.
  2. omg! I have the same dent! I just figured it was because my surgery was just a few days ago.
  3. I just had my surgery Monday and I vomited the foamy blood 3x. My stomach did not clench up or anything, it just came up. Before surgery, the anesthesiologist talked w me and I told him I vomit every time. He gave me a shot and a patch to wear behind my ear. I also received more shots from the nurse and a sub lingual pill....and a suppository, all for nausea. I used a morphine drip for pain. Tuesday I had to be taken to xray for the contrast thing and thought I would rather have my skin peeled off me. The ride took 2 elevators and through 3 buildings! Every bump was hell for me. Because I was so nauseous I couldn't use my cpap either. All's well here. I did not tear anything.
  4. I was sleeved Monday too and still feel pretty awful. Swollen and bloated but unable to pass gas. Can't get comfy either. I just take a deep breath remember this is only temporary. Though I did cry like a baby Monday from the pain.
  5. Good luck Vanessa and Suez! We will all be on our way to the losers bench tomorrow! 17lbs! That's awesome! I had to be taken off the liquid diet early so my weight loss stopped
  6. Thanks! I was really nervous a few weeks back, but the closer I get to surgery the more calm I get. Dang, only if I could apply that to other areas of my life, lol!
  7. If you asked me a few weeks ago if I was nervous I would have said YES. So why now, less than 48 hours until surgery, am I mellow? Of course I don't want to die or have any complications, but I am so relaxed it's creepy. My biggest concern seems to be if I should take a book or magazines. I'm staying 2 nights. Hubby took time off work and freezer is packed. I already bought my "food", got my meds ready and did laundry. Maybe I'm just ready? Knowing me I'll probably get super nervous the morning of,lol! Either way, I thought I'd be more emotional.
  8. Congrats on the weight loss! It sounds like you have everything under control. I'm still pre-op liquid stage and I already have head hunger and can't imagine it gets worse! My neighbors all bbq daily and the aroma just floats in. Very enticing. When did you start driving? I have to start a week out and am not sure I will be able to do it.
  9. I hope you can get this worked out. I just looked at my approval letter from Anthem CA and it only states that the approval is based on medical necessity and is not a guarantee that benefits will be paid if I am not enrolled and eligible for benefits of the date of service. Keep us updated.
  10. That's great news!! My insurance approved me in less than 24 hours too and we have the same surgery date. Are you on the pre-op diet now?
  11. I know Ina is the barefoot contessa but I can't stop singing In A-Gadda-Da-Vida whenever I hear her name!
  12. Right!? Certifiable! And yes my family is really enjoying it
  13. Woot Woot!! Keep us posted on your recovery! I will be sleeved exactly one week after you
  14. I take ibuprofen as well and my Dr. did not say anything about not being able to take it with the sleeve.
  15. I must be insane. I don't really know what else to think. I hope someone can explain this to me. I have about 1 week left on my pre-op liquid diet and I can't stop cooking! Yesterday I made my family french toast for Breakfast, BLT's for lunch, Lasagna/Cesar salad/Garlic bread for dinner and a GIANT batch of homemade chocolate chip Cookies. I also tossed some chili in the crock-pot before bed. I am making oatmeal raisin cookies now and have the entire day planned out food wise. I am not making simple foods that I would normally make. I'm doing "from scratch" recipes that are time consuming. I am NOT eating any of it. In full disclosure, I took a big fat bite of the BLT (which I had been craving since day 1 of pre-op) but promptly got sick. It was so salty to me! I threw it all away. I almost got ill watching my husband scarf down dinner last night. The amount was obscene to me, but in reality it was our "normal" serving size. He is not fat at all...he is about 175 and 5'10". I also can't stop cleaning. I almost feel like I'm nesting I'm not talking your normal cleaning. I'm talking my military parents would be proud cleaning! WTH? I was really tired all last week but yesterday I woke up with so much energy and I KEPT it! Is this normal? Oh, on our walk last night my husband got tired and wanted to come home and I wanted to keep on walking. That has never happened before!
  16. The first few days are the hardest, but you CAN do it!!! I'm on day 5. My surgery is the 19th. I almost broke down and ate a few times, but I didn't. Sobe lifewater saved me! I chugged the whole bottle then took a nap. Please be careful with the driving!
  17. AutumnLily is right. Do the pre-op liquid diet.
  18. You are doing sooo great! Congratulations
  19. I wish I had the type of Mom that I could tell, but she would tell the world. So just my immediate family knows. Not only do I not want to hear all the Negative Nancy's out there, I don't want to be defined as "the girl who had WLS".
  20. As many of you, I too have yo-yo dieted and failed. BUT, what really made me decide was a series of "aha" moments. My kids are teenagers now and I have made them miss out on sooo many things because I was too fat/embarrassed to take them when they were younger. The beach...only if it's private. Skiing....avalanche anyone?? Vacations....always planned around MY limitations. It is VERY embarrassing to start to breath heavy when going up a slight incline!! My kids deserve better. My husband deserves better. I deserve better. I want to play with my future grandkids, not be dead or in a jazzy scooter. @Shea- I can relate to the interview. As I got fatter, I noticed my job recognition/opportunities faded. People seem to think fat equals incompetent and lazy. Oh, one last one...I am in NO pictures. It's like I don't exist. Holidays, birthdays etc. I took all the pictures so I couldn't be photographed.
  21. Good Luck!!! You will do GREAT
  22. I called my nutritionist and she said if I don't regain my energy by tomorrow I can add a scoop of protein to my drink. The headache might be from caffeine withdrawals. I stopped all caffeine years ago and the headaches were horrid.
  23. My Dr. uses a milk diet. Since I am lactose intolerant I am drinking 2-3 glasses of light soy milk 3 x a day and as much water/propel as I want. I also take all my regular Vitamins but add an extra multi. Nutritionist said if I get too lethargic I can add a scoop of my Protein in a day or two. I am using Syntax nectar.
