  2. Ummmmm sorry to disagree with folks comments i don't think this story is funny at all i would have been horrified i would have a "discussion" with a boss later this sounds illegal too the lady had to board the plane ASAP her hurry might have been due to her mandatory strip - when i had lost my 105 lbs (Goal) i did get a new picture for DMV the guy did a dble take when he saw the old me!! i did have my old license with me and i proudly told him about my WLS surgery - no prob Kathy
  3. hi newbie sure, people on board want to answer your questions support each other with love and encouragement we're not ignoring you, really!! hard to answer all of the questions so many people on these boards many other people don't get responses either not only you - don't take it personally people can't respond to all other people's posts keep asking your questions someone will jump in with an answer fellow WLS patients want to answer your questions when my nurse came in, i was allowed to swallow all my meds - i had told her i knew i would be ok if you HAVE to crush pills etc, i would put them in applesauce or ice cream (kidding about the ice cream) give me/us another chance - pppppplease your next question ? answer - of course i'm a nice person and a cutie too good luck bud safe surgery speedy recovery kathy
  4. @Amethyst Acinom i never had an "official" apron. wasn't a must to have a tummy tuck. thought i would be "pampering" myself. being selfish on spending so much money on ME !!! 5+ years PO - GOAL 4+ - down 105 lbs and holding!!! all of a sudden i had an "ahhhhha" moment (like Orah would say) I am worthy etc - so i am getting a tt in a few months. continued luck on your journey & eventual tummy tuck kathy
  5. @Angiesweigh WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME you've got the above statement backwards!!! we're the lucky ones getting a nice, NEWBIE like you!!! WE get to go through the journey with you!!! enough small talk....... "they" say look, learn, and listen - yep very true!! read all the boards, get advice etc. you probably will see questions from others, that you were thinking about too. try and absorb as much as you can. we are all wonderful people (esp. me) ready, willing and usually able to answer your questions!! you will get plenty of support too!! good luck, speedy recovery kathy
  6. @jennmonterrozo glad things are resolved w/insurance i'm happy your reflex has improved so much but..........i've always heard that if you are prone to heartburn/reflex stay away from the sleeve - sleeve can initiate or make heartburn worse. RNY supposed to be more invasive!!. doc gave you his opinion between the surgeries. of course it's your decision - get more info from doc ask more info from doc have him explain his reasoning between the two WLS btw - i have been a happy sleever for the past 5+ years (no pressure here) ball is in your court - i know you will win - for yourself, that's who counts. good luck - speedy recovery kathy
  7. i spent 2 nights at hospital - all i did was sleep and sleep etc i wasn't feeling well after the first night. couldn't do anything for myself. dr said "how about you staying another night?" i was walking around the halls , feeling better- by then i was anxious to go home!!! i am a real waaas when it comes to pain. be strong, the best is yet to come - kathy

  12. I don't know how to post pics tried many times before someone else posted pics for me thanx for showing me the area to add pic i did this before - after 5+ years PO i still can't post a pic i deleted ticker - wanted to start over with a new ticker one time they said something like "rendered" so they can't change (something like that) i need to change my GOAL date to 12/15/12 starting weight 235 lb >>>>>130 lb under my posts shows my sig with big spacs appearing - looking like it's on an actual gigantic page PS was at GOAL - now have been fluctuating periodically 3-6 lbs any help would be appreciated thanx kathy
  13. @Ken S. first off, the guy on the left is an imposter he is cute, but i am cuter pic changed about 10 days ago please change pic back to NORMAL I must be missing something on how to change/fix ticker my signature too i can't fix lots of spacing between lines it looks nicer when there is one common space between lines - in example some times it might look like above with big blanks (i did this one above on purpose just so you can see what i'm talking about other posts too big spaces/blanks between lines (yeach) it would be great if you could make Q&A page (pages) people being able to ask all their questions other people have shown similar problems, i might have missed them/answers i know this website info is here, still need help!! at least that's what hubby always says in general!! kathy thanx for your help
  14. @Alex Brecher btw- pic on left is not me the guy is a cutie, but i'm cuter ROFLMAO also prob with changing profile pic (profile pic is showing someone else, not me) lines can be spaced differently one line might show same spacing, other line will have a big blank space can' t fix signature or ticker i am getting so upset i almost ate a glazed doughnut !! don't worry all, my mental restriction kicked in !!!! lite and fit greek, blueberry yogurt - here i come help!! tia
  15. @john925 I am 5+ years PO - GOAL past 4+ years (105 lbs down) during the last 2.5 years i fluctuated here and there as much as 5-7 lbs - but i consider myself at GOAL for ME, restriction gradually slowed down about 2 years+ my "mental" restriction" kicked in i still use a smaller plate with my small amounts trying to eat lessss sweets (that's a killer for me) pre-op my doc said to me "eat until you are full", then stop 2 bites earlier"! kind of like "tom" asks "fred" where is sleeve st???fred says,"watch me" - and get off 2 stops earlier!! I better stop writing now and grab a cookie oooops - meant to say Greek lite and fit blueberry yogurt weight gain would happen if i ate too often, and to much in this situation, size DOES matter you should usually/frequently follow all the rules that you've learned you can be a "little" lax as times passes I used to be 5"3 now i'm 6" tall kathy i will always be proudgrammy

  18. i didn't have the leak test kind of concerned me after the fact luckily i didn't have any problems PO i don't think it's a "must do" - think it's doc's decision - unless you ask/tell him one way or the other after 5+ years i think i am safe good luck kathy edit:the pic under my name changed a couple of days ago to a guy - this is NOT me!! wonder if this has happened to him too? my signature needs to be fixed too don't know his name also the signature on my page is messed with spaces wide apart (similar to @summerset my name is @proudgrammy @Alex Brecher could you look into this and fix it!! TIA kathy
  19. @Alex Brecher under my name on the left (profile pic) there is a pic of a different person!! the info i wrote is correct, but the pic is wrong i would like to know how to fix my signature i wish there was a chapter/book Q&A about how to do things it would be very helpful to newbies - through VETS i am a healthier, happier VET - 5+ year - i'm still standing!! i would be happier if i knew the above answers TIA Kathy
