Surgery Canceled (Or Hopefully Just Postponed)
Oh no!!!! i agree that you need to be pro-active and constantly talk with the docs office about your concern/problem with the insurance company since the surgery had to be post-poned "please help me have the surgery before December 1rst" explain the situation with your hubby and insurance et al and yes, be very firm!!!! (but sweet/nice too) I'm so sorry this happened, especially days before planned WLS hopefully things will work out don't kick yourself being all upset and starting to binge. that won't help you will eventually have the WLS - and the less you weigh DOS - the better crossing my fingers and toes too good wishes & thoughts being sent your way kathy

This Probably Sounds Silly But...
In my case i never thought about how i would look i just wanted to lower my weight, slowly but steadily it also "crept" on me, the weight loss and change in my appearance i was over concentrating on the scale, didn't really look at myself one day i got out of the shower and stared in the mirror i knew it was me - but boy oh boy the first thing i noticed, i turned around and realized my rear end was GONE don't worry or think too much about what you will look like as time passes just enjoy the ride good luck next month kathy

Has Anyone Gained 2 1/2 Pounds In One Day?
many OP on the board say their frustration about gaining any weight no rhyme or reason that happens Water weight - time of month - maybe a mood change this is the place to vent!!!! 45 lbs in 4 months is good!!!! i have heard that if you lose 10 lbs in a month, thats great you are eating so few calories that you can't help but lose sometimes "shaking" up your eating can help you to lose even adding a 100 or so calories can break things up keep up the good job kathy

I'm not following the program!
Camella As OP said good for you, baring your soul I think "fessing" up is a good thing you are 5 months PO - down 61 lbs OMG that's great!!!! comments from others above and more to follow............. show that you are not alone it is hard dealing with following all the rules/water et al but you've been so successful, i know you can continue to do right concentrate on "thing I do right" try not to dwell on the bad things use those bad thoughts to remind you great you can, and will do i saw your before and after pics what a difference!!! you look great me, many, most of us get discouraged, fall down once and a while then we/me/you realize how hard we've worked get back to doing what you were doing before I know thats so easy to say, but please, you gotta do it eating those foods/sliders will just depress you more eventually you might say "oh well" and continue your forever old bad habits please don't do that you were successful then, you will be again I can see in your beautiful eyes and face that you are a winner (or loser!!! ) the old standard of getting back to basic is never a bad idea you have lost so much weight!!!!' good for you!!! OP have correctly suggested what to do, so i won't repeat their wise words hang in there you can do this we all care about you - and all other people dealing with "issues" heads up kathy

Mom was supportive at first but questioning things now....
tigermom moms are moms all their lives ( me too, and maybe you) they usually/sometimes/ always have to give their opinions, right or wrong course, I'm always right at 43, when mom gives her opinion, thats ok but she shouldn't think you MUST lagree and follow her advise just thank her for her thoughts/opinion, but...............you have already come to a decision (something like that) talking about me for a minute.......... hijacking for a minute my mom was always so upset/verbal about my weight, when i toldl her i was having WLS she was elated mom, siblings et al always been "normal" in their weight - I was the black sheep my mom "always thought she was being "cute" as an adult - this day - for my b'day i would get a candle on a WW cupcake she never realized how hurtful that was (even though I told her) I had WLS about 2 years ago - and I've been at goal for the past many months by the way.................DOS of WLS I was 57 years OLD I will be 60 years YOUNG in January good luck with mom , hopefully she will come around good luck with surgery (and mom to) speedy recovery kathy

gaunt looking?!?
kchristian when a "normal" person says something like the above comment, she/he is maybe/probably not thinking before they speak still no excuse - ignorance is bliss??? i don't think so but............ for a professional to say something like "gaunt looking"??? wow, that hurt dumb/cruel thing to say - even though i'm sure she didn't mean to be insensitive - but she is/was your profile Height 5 feet, 7 inches Starting Weight 280 lbs Current Weight 197 lbs Surgery Date May, 14 2013 Goal Weight 150 lbs Weight Lost 83 lbs being a "shrimp" at 5'3 i've always envied (msp?) lovely tall girls like you there is a thread on the board concerning taller people - their weight et al (sorry don't know how to find it ) people give their weights, size et al i'm sure you don't look gaunt/hollow "maybe" recheck your goal weight with others all peoples body build, medium et al is different but.............i'm sure you are looking absolutely maaaaaaaaaaaaarevelous don't start staring at yourself, 2nd guessing yourself paranoia is no fun - i keep worrying about that 83 lbs down is wonderful!!!!\ keep up the good work kathy congrats

frustrated at 9 months...need motivation
Success2013 your name says it all you have been very successful sorry you are going through a few bumps in the road I'm buttless too!!! but i know you can get back on that horse!!! holy moly girlfriend - 66 lbs down!!!! i'm relieved that you know what an accomplishment that i know you can lose the remaining weight you want to NO lecture, really............. but you know what you gotta do to me ALL the water rules are essential you need to get back to drinking properly no drinking with meals, don't drink for up to an hour after you eat!!!! the feeling, realization that you will improve your health and happiness is/has been a great motivator for me like many others, i have slipped too i remind myself how much i went through to have this surgery, recovery, hard work to reach goal et al i don't want all my hard work to be in vane today, tomorrow or ever i bet you feel the same way remind yourself of all the improvements you have had since your weight loss health benefits, just the happy feelings you've had i know you can do this!!! really i do!!! you look like a young un from your picture with the cool sun glasses sounds corny - but you've got so much ahead of you - should/will be all good you will do this, i know you will be successful again good luck kathy 66 lbs!!!! congrats
-
Checking in- 18 months later... 150 pounds down and happier than ever.
Harmonic15 great weight loss!!!! many, many, many people here post about their concern that they are able to eat more after "X" amount of months (me too) At almost 2 years PO - I am also able to eat more - but as long as i watch myself, stop eating before i'm full - i'm good i do graze sometimes i'm not perfect (well actually....... ) all the many rules you/me learned when we were initially sleeved still apply I think the day "we" stop worrying about our eating habits, being aware of what food/drink we put in our mouth.......... is the day we/I should/would worry about regaining weight quick side note......analogy my 83 year old mom told her doc she is afraid of developing Altzheimers (msp) he also told her that the day she stops worrying..... enjoy the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy congrats
