  1. I am a newbie to this site as well. I went to a seminar on May 18th to see what bariatric surgery was all about. I decided to call and make an appointment the next day! I had my appointment on May 26th along with my nutritional and psych consult. I received a letter from my insurance company on June 6th saying it was approved and just yesterday the doctors office called to schedule my surgery for the beginning of August. Yikes....it's all kind of moving so fast!!! I have to do a liquid diet for 10 days before my surgery and a few pre op tests and I'm good to go....I think Reading all the other posts about it taking months is kind of scaring me....why are they pushing my through so quickly????
