I have struggled with my weight since I was in Middle School. I tried many different diets and exercise seemed to put muscle on but not take off a lot of weight. It was suggested by my Dad that I look into surgery. After consideration and some conversation with others who have been banded, I decided that it would be the right option for me. I started working really hard to take off some weight before surger and lost about 25 lbs but plateaued there. After surgery the weight really dropped off and 3 weeks after I was released from the hospital I had lost another 20 lbs due to a protien shake diet. Now it seems that woking out is working for me the way that it should. I have not stepped on a scale since my 3 week post op appointment but I am now jogging about 3 miles a day on the tread mill and I am going to add weights in about another week. The biggest difficulty I have found is being able to eat enough food to get the amount of protien that I should be getting, I have found that I need to continue drinking my protien shakes 1-2 times a day.
