Down a jean size
Sooo, I may only be in this process for 3 weeks, but I have already loss a jean size!!!!! Yippee. I woke up this morning and dug up pair of jeans at the bottom of the drawer. They are a new pair of jeans I only wore and few times. They were a bit tight when I bought them and I just grew out of them before I really got to where them. I held them up to me and they didn't look like they would fit, just seemed to small still. But I went ahead and threw my legs into them pulled them up and BAM the button was right at the hole. I could button them with out even sucking in. This sleeve is going to be amazing!!! I think losing jean sizes may be even more amazing then watching that scale move. There is no denying you are smaller when you can button a pair of jeans. Just curious if some of you might share your waist size (or the place where you button your jeans at) in inches and jean size you wear and weight. I know we are all very different, but I'd love to get an idea of what size jeans I can eventually wear. I have never been small so its all a new experience. I think starting high school I was already a 12-14 and graduated in 18. So to even be a 10 would be all new. Currently I'm 52in, size 22, 253

Suddenly Single... now what?
Honestly, maybe you might take some time out just for you. If the relationship was that serious, you should take time to get over your loss. It can be hard and unhealthy if you don't grieve especially if it was that serious for you. I am sorry it is so hard to lose the person your consider to be your one you were going to lean on for support. I personally have devoted this year to my self. I don't think it is selfish, it is just the reality of knowing that I can't be of help to anyone if I can't help me first. I have been very interested in getting together with someone very close to me, but I wanted to concentrate on me and my life changes I am going through with surgery. It would be hard to work at dating and getting to know someone seriously while also just trying to get to know the new you. This is just my own opinon, but time for yourself is never a bad thing and I think that's what we all need sometimes. I hope this helps.

losing weight
I don't think it is a requirement to lose weight before surgery however there is most often and pre op diet you have to follow. This diet usually entails eating healthy for about 14 days before surgery. Usually for most the last 5 days is liquid and the last 3 is clear liquids including talking a laxitive. With all this it is very possible to lose weight which is what does need to happen around the liver. The loss of fat around the liver is what the pre op diet is intended for so that it is easier to get around to the stomach. Good Luck I hope this helps in your understanding.

What are your makeover plans?
It seems small and silly, but I have always had long, long hair and never cut it to even my shoulders. I know it's more because I used my hair to hide behind half the time, than me thinking I would look bad with short hair. Next spring for my drastic makeover I would love to cut my hair short and finally donate to locks of love. Plus a new skinny wardrobe wouldn't be too bad either maybe with more shorts and even a couple dresses! Crazy would never wear a sun dress with my figure today, but I've always loved them. We will see!! Oh, Oh and boots!!! Can not forget the boots. I want to buy a pair of claf high boots and be able to zip them up!! OOOOOOOOOOOh Boots!

Back to normal at 3 months
I have done the same in the past. Just eat and eat to fill a void that will never be filled with food as hard as I tried. I am currently speaking with two very close friends that each have had bariactric surgery to curb my feelings on how I dealt with food before. I am glad to see you are getting the help you need because although this surgery will change the way you eat it does not change your mind set. It is odd and takes some getting used to, but yes I think the same thing will happen to you as far as losing some of your 'interest' in food. It's just that your not hungry. Your mind may think you are and you wil I'm sure attempt to at some point, but you will realize that you are full and or not hungry. I am only three weeks out, but I feel this was the best and only way to get to where I'm heading. Good Luck

Back to normal at 3 months
Wow, congratulations RedCobra I just can't wait to be where you are today. I think you are doing a fabulous job with your diet and it was exactly what I have been looking for on here. Someone that is still losing, doing protein, doing water, but still eating food and good food at that.

CAULIFLOWER PIZZA
This sounds so amazing and easy. I am just now moving into mushies so can't wait till I can try this recipe. I have never been a big cook hence why I probably got this big is because I was a fast food eater, but this recipe seems so easy. Woohoo love the recipe forum. I may become a cook yet!

Am I on track?
Hey everyone! Thought I would go ahead and start my first topic. I know we are to never compare our weight loss to others, but I just want to know and feel like I am on track with the norm. Tommorrow wil be my two weeks since surgery and I have lost 12lbs. Now I am so excited about this!! I have never before lost this much weight this fast. I feel however, that I should have lost more in the start up, get out of the gate phase. I see some at around the same weight as myself losing 10-15lbs. in the first week. What do you all think and how do your stats match up? Also I notice that like many of you the weight on the scale tends to stay the same or vary up and down on a pound for 4-6 days and then BLAM! it just drops 4lbs over night. Very weird, yet very exciting. That is what happened to me this morning. Staying on the plus side although its only been three weeks with the pre-op I have even lost inches, so glad I did this. BTW I love this site. I am on here almost everyday and really appreciate all the support offered.

Hit a huge milestone!

Surgery today in mexico
Welcome to the loser's bench. It feels so good. Congratulations and I wish you a quick recovery. It gets much easier everyday.

How the heck did I gain a pound?
It's crazy stuff right. I had my surgery May 3 and I was losing everyday until the last few days. I stepped on the scale and put on almost 2lbs. and am still waiting for it to come back off. I don't know what is happening because I am still in my liquids phase so pretty much only water, chicken broth, gatoraide, protein shakes, and jello. And I gained? I have no idea. I have the exact same fear and I'm the small percentage of people this is not going to work for! OMG I just can't hope to think like that, so scary. Hopefully things will change quickly for both of us.

10 Days POSTOP!!!
Congrats!!! I am on the same boat as you. I am 10 days out and just feel like I want to chew something. I heard not to chew gum because they chewing actually starts the digestion process in the stomach and builds up acid, therefore getting the more hungry feeling and growling sensation which I already have so. Just sticking it out and looking towards the future. I just know that this is the best thing I could have done for myself and I honeslty feel amazing. Best of luck to you, we are finally on the losers bench and it feels goooood!

Is travel 4 weeks after VSG realistic? (I'm pre-op & trying to plan)
I don't think you should have any problems. Honestly, I understand that I have had a major surgery, but I have been able to go back to work one week after surgery. I feel great. I don't have a sit behind a desk job either. I am always up moving around. I think you will be more than fine. I do agree with the others that getting up and moving around the plane will be very helpful. I felt like I just had to move on the plane when I came back from San Diego because my legs just had that twitch in them. Good Luck and have fun!

Onederland, Before and After, 7 Weeks out...WOW!!
Oh, you can tell! I see it in your face and your legs. You look good, congrats. I really loved what you wrote. I am just starting my journey and have been in a debate whether this was the best idea. I feel deprieved and have a lot of head hunger. Its just really great knowing someone else has felt the same way. Thanks

Help!!! I'm 5 days post op and downing 12 oz of liquid in 20 minutes
I seem to have the same feelings. I can get down my liquid quite easily. All I ever remember reading is sip, sip, sip, but I don't have any problems getting a light liquid down. I just hope that my stomach is small and restrictive. I know I saw it in the x-ray or swallow and well it seemed small. Just nervous and waiting to get to mushies so I can start feeling some restriction.
