I am so sorry for everything you have been through. Let me start by saying I totally understand. I have been where you are....exactly. My doctor didn't like my surgeon choice. My boyfriend did not support my decision at all- and ended up breaking up with me right before my surgery. I thought I was going to lose my job the year before my surgery.
I decided that I wanted VSG in November of 2010. I explained very very patiently my surgeon choice to my doctor. I explained very patiently my decision for Bariatric surgery. And I explained that I needed her support- and if I couldn't get it- I would have to switch doctors.
After doing battle with my insurance company and what felt like everyone in the free world....I was approved for my surgery in July 2011.
I've been told that my experience actually went rather smooth some people have to do battle for years.
I had my surgery August 1st 2011. I was 260lbs in Jan 2011 I was 245 on the day of surgery- and today I am 195. This is the best decision I have ever made in my life. I was on 3 types of Blood pressure medication that occasionally worked. I have not had to take a single pill since surgery. I was 3 points away from being Diabetic- now my blood work is totally normal.
I understand what you are going through. I will keep you in my prayers. Hang in there. If you ever need to talk or need extra support feel free to drop me a line. Our stories are so similar it is scary.

Wow. Well it is certainly kid of all of you to say….honestly didn’t make the post to fish for compliments. I just thought it was a rather humorous observation. It is just funny the things one notices as they lose weight. As for my booty…I look for it to deflate any moment now…I just thought I would enjoy it for the short time I have it.

Hang in there. You guys are doing great. It does get so much better. I was almost 2 months in before I managed to hit my protein and water goals. Protein shakes ended up helping me a lot.

I went through the exact same thing. I spent months fighting to get qualified and the split second I got approved I had a brief moment of happiness and was then filled with dread. I was afriad of complications. I was afraid I would be the only person the sleeve wouldn't work for.....I was afraid of a lot of things.
I am 18 weeks out now. My one and only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

Haven't run into him yet. In a way it feels good to have lost this much. In a way it feels weird. I remember this weight being smaller- and not so old. lol I was hoping that I would look really good by the time I ran into him again.

Gas-X strips helped me greatly right after surgery. I didn't have to worry about trying to swallow a pill. They disolve in your mouth. Good luck-
