About Me

About the Sleeved me:

I was sleeved on October 18th, 2011. My life has definitely changed for the better. I'm exercising, I'm more social, I'm happier, and my health has greatly improved. So far I've gone from a size 22 to a size 12. I havent worn a size 12 since I was in junior high school!

The excerpt below is from the "pre-sleeved" me:

Born in the Bronx, NY. I was a chunky baby. I was born this way (Yes, that's a Lady Gaga reference). star.gif

Went to elementary school, junior high, and high school in the Bronx too. Always been the tallest and heaviest girl. Wasnt really active in sports, was more of the singing/dancing type. dance.gif

Later on I had two children with my high school sweetheart, first child when I turned 22. I had gestational diabetes during that pregnancy which is usually an indication that you're pre-disposed to having the disease later on in your life. Subsequently, I had gestational diabetes during all of my pregnancies.

Never married my high school sweetheart. Let him go and moved on. Found my husband when I turned 30. Fell in love, got married, had two children with him. I have FOUR children. Whew! crazy.gif

Currently reside in Westchester, NY and would love to be able to be more physically active in my children's lives. Huffin and puffin and trying to catch your breath after a few minutes of playing with them is such a downer.

I recently discovered that I love to run, however, this weight i'm carrying is too much on my knees and hip, so I cant run as consistently as I would like to. I wish I had taken up running earlier in my life. It's really a great form of exercise, physically and mentally.

I've been big all my life. I dont know what it is to be thin, but I am literally dying to know. I feel my body deteriorating, and I want to slow the process down by shedding this weight and changing my eating habits (which I've been doing for the past couple of years). I come from a family riddled with obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure and dont want to end up fighting these diseases at this time in my life.

It's time to make a change. I'm ready. thumbup1.gif
