First AFTER pics
Hey Everyone It was my 27th birthday this week, and I went out for a family meal. Was lovely to get dressed up and feel sexy for once! I'm one month out tomorrow, and down 20lb. Feel fantastic! Here are my TERRIBLE before pics, and a couple from tonight. Be gentle! xxxx

Pills POSTOP?
I was allowed to start taking small tablets and capsules from day 5. But it seems that I was fast tracked in most things, was on mushies by day 4. I am now almost a month out and took some pain killers for a headache today and they were a bit bigger than what I've had so far and it was pretty uncomfortable. So I would say go with dissolvables if you can! Good luck x

Insomnia and Itchiness
I think I've heard that the anaesthetic can cause itchiness? Not sure how long it stays in your system, but I did get some random rashes for a few weeks after my op. Hope you feel better soon! x

Constant mini slimes?
Hey guys, I asked a while ago if anyone had experienced a yucky mucus at the back of the throat a few weeks out. There were suggestions of allergies or that I may have caught a cold, but I'm really not sure. I am now almost a month out and still having the same problem. I went to the pharmacy today and had real trouble explaining how it feels... It is NOT a cough, there is nothing on my chest I feel like I need to clear my throat and nose all the time, but nothing ever comes out I keep having a big thick clump of phlegm in the back of my throat which I can't bear to spit out because it feels so horrid, so I am swallowing it and then my tummy gurgles lots and I feel sick. I am having trouble eating because I feel like my stomach is full of this slimy stuff. Sorry for the TMI, it's so gross! Reading some other posts it sounds a lot like the "sliming" which some people experience when eating too much or too fast. But it is there all the time. Maybe I should go to my Doctor? The pharmacist gave me some tablets for congestion and catarrh but they don't seem to be making any difference.... Any advice would be much appreciated! Yours slimily xxx

Feeling like a new woman!
I had another great moment today!! The guys in my office do a weekly run to the bakery on the corner. In the past I have always accepted a cake, eaten it, then felt guilty for the rest of the day, OR I would have tried to be good and said "no thanks", then sulked for the rest of the day because I felt deprived. However, today was the first time EVER that I said "nothing for me thanks" and actually meant it! I didn't want anything, and didn't feel angry and bitter watching everyone eating theirs when they arrived. This tool is such a blessing. I hope I never take it for granted.

Is this heartburn?
Tums and Rennies do nothing for me, but GAVISCON does the trick. It's sugar free and not too disgusting. I'd definitely recommend it.

Feeling like a new woman!
Hey Guys I'm now just over two weeks and I have the following points to note: I'm down two sizes already! I went for lunch today and was totally satisfied on about a quarter of a starter portion of prawns and avocado! I'm all of a sudden interested in clothes and shoes again! I've started to wear lipstick again! My spots are clearing up! I splashed out on some posh body firming moisturiser! I no longer have a nap during the day whenever I can! I'm smiling more! And the biggest and most wonderful change of all - I feel at peace :biggrin0: I no longer feel like I am constantly fighting against my urges and cravings. I don't feel like my body and my brain are having a tug of war. I no longer feel angry and bitter about my weight. I feel wonderful!:001_wub::biggrin0::lol0::thumbup: Hooray for the sleeve! I hope some of you share the same happiness now or with time. xxxxx

Mucus at back of nose / throat?
Cool, thanks guys!! I'm in UK and I don't think we have the meds you mentioned, but I'm sure the pharmacist can suggest something

Mucus at back of nose / throat?
Thanks for the reply. I also had those breathing exercises and bubbly lungs for a little while, but this is definitely just in the throat/nose. I would have thought that any damage done by the tubes etc would have healed by now?

A special gift
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just made my day!!!!! :lol0::lol0::lol0:

Mucus at back of nose / throat?
Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone else is suffering from constantly feeling like you need to blow your nose or clear your throat? I feel like no matter what I do it feels gross and it has been this way for a week or so. Could it be a coincidence that I've picked up a little cold? Or is this a side effect of my sleeve? I'm now two weeks out. Thanks! xx

8 hours from my sleeve!
Hang in there honey. That drain will be out before you know it! Sounds like you're doing great, keep it up! xxx

Help! I need FIBER!
Goodness! That's gotta hurt! One funny thing was that when I finally did BM my mega chest pains disappeared... I had no idea the two were connected. Could have been a coincidence.

My own "What have I done?" moment has come.. please help
Oh, what it is to have a no-nonsense man about the place! :lol0: Seriously though, the hard facts are reassuring. There's no arguing with that. Huge thank you Ouroboros for the informative post. Now I am at 13 days out I am starting to see the weight coming off and I feel great. I have energy returning and no longer feel so fragile and like something could go wrong at any moment. Anyone just out of surgery and experiencing the feelings I was having last week could do a lot worse than digesting the wealth of support and statistics this thread holds.
