SageTracey got a reaction from ☠carolinagirl☠ in not sure what to do. help me please
My surgeon said the shoulder pain was referred pain from the work done inside me. It may not feel like it now, but it will pass in time. One day you will realise that it isn't hurting any more.

SageTracey got a reaction from brianb in who here has been banded for at least 2 years and has had NO complications?
I'm coming up two years and have had no issues with my band either. I guess it is just more common for people to post when they do have issues and are looking for input from others in a similar position than it is for those of us who are not having problems to post.

I guess it's gender-specific only in that most men don't wear bras!
Otherwise, sounds perfectly normal to me, too.

I don't think this is gender specific, I just think you're still tender from surgery. It hasn't even been a month so just go easy on yourself and give yourself more time to heal.
    Best wishes.

What you are feeling below your sternum will be your port. Your band is around your stomach and you cannot feel it.

SageTracey got a reaction from CanCan1791 in I had to have my band removed today
Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time of it. When were you actually banded? Last month (as per your profile) or 10 years ago, as per your post above?
If it was the former, it seems a very quick turnaround and must be extremely disappointing for you.
If it was the latter, then you did extremely well to last so long!
Good on you for pointing out that your situation is extremely rare and that others should not be concerned about experiencing the same results.
Best wishes for your future weight loss journey, whatever road you take!

SageTracey got a reaction from parisshel in HELP explain a fill
It sounds as though you have been banded without proper education from your surgical team! That is really disappointing and frustrating for you.
At a week and a half post op, I was still on liquids, not even mushies. And I didn't get my first fill until six weeks post-op.
I suggest that you draw up a list of questions before your appointment and insist that your dr answer them all to your satisfaction before you leave.
A fill adds saline to your band and can be removed if you get too tight.
You can eat like a normal person with a band but you definitely need to get more information to help you along this journey.
Take advantage of the offers of help you have been given here and demand information from your medical team. It is NEVER too late to learn more about living with your band.

I love that today I was disappointed that our bike ride was about 15km SHORTER than I was expecting! Pre-band I wouldn't even get on my bike, now I just love going further and further.

SageTracey got a reaction from victoriously in is walking enough???!!!
Hi. Without any information in your profile it is very difficult for members to offer anything other than generic, supportive advice. Are you banded yet? How long? Have you lost a good deal of weight already and simply hit a plateau? Are you walking briskly or strolling?
There are lots of factors that could be affecting your results. The great thing is that you are out there exercising every day and monitoring your calories. Keep it up, vary your exercise, and success is sure to follow.

SageTracey got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in NSV - wedding anniversary in the saddle!
29 years ago today I married my best friend. Today we are closer and happier than ever. We have stuck together through thick and thin (fat and skinny:)
So how did we choose to Celebrate our anniversary? Well, a 100km bike ride seemed like a great idea as we are starting a four and a half day charity ride over 460km this week!
Unfortunately, due to bike problems, we had to finish up at 75km but that is still 74km further than I could have ridden two years ago.
BTW - yesterday was my two year bandiversary - down 63kg and living life to the max!

SageTracey got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in woman has lapband removed so she can eat...
She is clearly in need of help to understand the consequences of her morbid obesity and to deal with her relationship with food.
In many ways I feel sorry for her but I feel even sorrier for the British people who will find it even more difficult to access WLS thanks to the publicity surrounding this one person's situation.
I have gone from a size 24-26 to a size 14 and love my new life! Sure, I don't eat the foods that I used to love and definitely nothing in the way of quantities that I used to eat. And there are times that I miss those foods and quantities, but my life is so much better now that there is no way I am ever going back.
