  1. I started mushies today too! I woke up early and made myself 2 scrambled eggs, then I had pintos and cheese for lunch and now l just had chicken & dumplings (chewed throughly). It's nice to eat something real again but my appointment for my first fill isn't until the 20th so I need to do really good or I might gain back what I've lost since I feel like I can eat the same amount I could before surgery. I think cottage cheese and scrambled eggs is awesome btw.
  2. Wow you went through alot during that time. I can't even imagine! Good for you for making your health your top priority, I'm trying to do the same now that I have insurance for the first time in seven years!
  3. A friend of mine who has had lapband for five years can't eat in the mornings.usually 1 to 2 hours after she wakes up. And liquid may go down very slowly maybe this is true for you as well. It's worth experimenting with.
  4. Ok that sounds logical, I guess I will take a step back.
  5. Yes but is it normal to feel full after a tble spoon or so? Thats like 50 calories depending on what I'm eating. It just doesnt seem good
  6. I want to get a bit more food in me because one or two bites and I'm done. I calculated my calories the other day and I only took in 400. I dont want my body to go in to starvation mode and hold onto fat rather then use it. I have been trying actually and have lost 18 lbs these past 9 days. I do agree I need to not form the bad habit though.
  7. For mushies I like mashed baked potato and macaroni chewed very well. I'm going to try refried beans tomorrow. I've also been slipping some real good in afew bites at a time. So far so good!
  8. I'm day nine post op and I've pretty much skipped cream soups and moved to mushies and real food. I can only eat maybe 1/4 cup of food before I'm full. Theres no fluid in my band so I wonder why I can't eat more. I know I've been breaking alot of rules but I feel good and I'm still only getting about 800 calories a day. Probably less. I also drink alot of water as I eat it helps me get a little more food down, which is what I want right now.. Do you think I'm doing any harm to my band with this routine? I'm kinda wishing I just had the gastric sleeve done I'm really tired of worrying about this foreign object in me flipping and flopping around..
  9. Very cool! I'm one week post op and enjoying mushies, so it's starting to seem like the right decision. The first few days I was sort of regretful. welcome to the club and come to the forum for any concern s you have. This site had been such a comfort to me.. Thank you all!
  10. Wow I didn't even think about that, I haven't coughed up anything!
  11. Your sure it's not gas? Gas gives me a horrible back ache, but if your passing gas regularly maybe it s just your organs getting back into position since they seem to be pushed and pulled around during surgery. Watch a lap band procedure on youtube, it really puts things in perspective!
  12. I don't have any symptoms just paranoid.. Thanks for the feed back!
  13. Has anyone experienced thier band slip? If so what caused it and what did you have to do afterward? More surgery? I'm so terrified of this as I don't have any more money left for another trip to the operating table...
  14. I was really bad just now and are a vienna sausage very slowly and now I'm praying to god to keep my band in place. Hungry!
  15. Oh I wish I only had 3 days of liquids, I'm in hell right now and feeling really bad for all the little starving children in ethiopia!
  16. Im 5 days post op and had to have something with substance I'm so hungry... I had a little tomatoe soup at lunch, is that going to hurt me?
  17. Did they have you use the little breath measuring device? I was given one and told to use it every two hours and it really helped alleviate the tight feeling in my chest. But essentially all it does is give you a goal air capacity when you inhale. Slow deep breaths should help just a little at first and then try a little deeper until you work it out.thats my advice..
  18. I too was banded on the 19th! Gas is awful but I found drinking something hot helps it come out if I feel like it's stuck in my stomach. Also sitting up straight and extending my arms over my head briefly helps a bubble our two escape..
  19. I'm 3 days post op and pretty miserable, hungry hungry hungry all day! I've tried protein shakes and chicken broth but both seem to be making me sick. I vomited for the first time lastnight which was horrible, so when I started feeling neasuea again today after my broth "lunch" I took a promethazine but the feeling is still there only now I'm getting slight taste of broth like a little heartburn. I'm really regretting this procedure right now, i need some reassurance...
