Shelly 77 I am glad you had your supportive husband to help you. This is very hard... I am on day 8 also... and I would love to have anything that's not a Protein shake or Jello. Just keep you eye on the big picture... Good luck

Hi Kayla, I feel you pain... I had to go to a birthday party yesterday. I couldn't even stay long...food all around me... I had to go home to my jell-o. We only have 9 more days to go...we can do it. Toyia

I didn't have a physical before my surgery. Blood work and x-rays...but no physicial. Toyia

I am starting day 6 of my pre-op liquid diet and I lost 5 lbs between yesterday and today... is this normal? I have lost a total of 10 lbs in less than a week (and if I include the weight I lost last week...I am down 15 lbs in 12 days). Toyia

I will not have my VGS until 8/8 but my docotor (Dr. Cantor) uses a 34.

Chunky and Fluffy 75 - PCOS is Polycystic ovary syndrome and it is a condition in which there is an imbalance of a woman's female sex hormones. This hormone imbalance may cause changes in the menstrual cycle, skin changes, small cysts in the ovaries and etc... Toyia

Hi All, I have a meeting tomorrow at 1 pm with my surgeon...I am up trying to think of some questions...this is the list now...am I missing anything...any suggestions would be helpful. This is my last appt before my surgery on Monday, Aug. 8th. Questions for the doctor: What size bougie is he going to use? Can I have my gall bladder out? Can I use a wrap on my stomach for support after the surgery and if so what kind (will the hospital give me something)? On the day of surgery…how can I survive with no food or drink from midnight to 2 pm…can I brush my teeth? Can I have Gas-X and sugar free cough drops right after the surgery - I read that these items are helpful to have with you? Thanks in advance, Toyia

Hi Kayla...It sounds like we have the same surgery date. I am on day 4 of my liquid diet also. It has been a struggle. I don't like to go out...because I see too many places that I use to eat at...that I can't eat at. But, I think it is good to keep busy. Let me know if you would like to become buddies... Hi All, I am scheduled to have surgery on Aug. 8th. I read in a post that having a recliner was very helpful, because it's hard to get in and out of bed. I was wondering if I should look into renting a recliner for 2 weeks? Can people tell me if they used a recliner or their bed after surgery. If you used both was one better than the other? I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry that you are having this issue with Kaiser now.... But, if this is something that you really want...please don't give up now. 1/2 lbs is so small...you could have taken off your socks to get that off. Please call Kaiser...talk to your doctor, nurse, customer support and anyone that may be able to help. I don't think that fair...But if you give up now Kaiser wins. I have Kaiser also and I live in Maryland. Please belive me when I tell you that Kaiser has been giving me the blues...but I just keep on going...You come so far to turn away now. I am glad that you put your post on this site...please take a minute to think about what's best for you and if you want it...please fight for it. Toyia

Tina...I am so happy for you...please let me know how you are doing after your surgery. I will say a prayer for you today Deevah...thank you so much for that information. I didn't know why we couldn't have milk. I know that each doctor is different and I was looking at posts from other people and I was mentally preparing myself for one thing and then when I received my instructions...I was a little sad... But, I am starting to wrap my brain around this whole thing... after months of waiting... this is really going to happen. At first I was sad about my 2 week pre-op liquid diet...but now I think it is a good thing...I am going to have so many changes physically after surgery...and this pre-op diet is getting me ready mentally. Hi Ann, I am starting the 3rd day on my pre-op diet. Right now I am drinking two Proteinblitz per day to get my 60 grams of Protein. I also have broth and jell-o. I talk a multi-vitamin, Vitamin D and B12. I could have had my surgery on June 13th but due to work and bad communication with the scheduler at Kaiser I am finally set to have my surgery on Aug. 8th. I have my pre-op appt with Dr. Cantor on Friday. Toyia
