Well, I've always considered myself the fat version of Scarlet O'Hara but it looks like I'll have to start looking at myself in a different light!  

I'm not one of those people who swear up and down they are just genetically unable to lose weight and even when they eat healthy they gain weight (you know the ones..lol).  I'm totally aware of how I got to where I am.  I had help with my best friends, Little Debbie, Chester the Cheetah, Baby Ruth...oh I could go on and on...lol

I've lost weight in the past with Weight Watchers, Medifast, Atkins, prescription diet pills, you name it and I have tried it.  In fact in my medicine cabinet at this very moment I have over 4 bottles of diet pills.  Sure its been hard but I always gained it back after the first BIG moment I had.  Vacation, holidays, sTrEsS....so many excuses to run back to food.

I've been researching WLS for over 4 years and finally decided it was time.  I'm 38 years old and thankfully I have been lucky with my overall health but I know I'm a ticking time bomb as diabetes and high blood pressure run in both sides of my family.  

So here I am!  Preparing for my surgery on June 13th!  Excited, nervous, anxious but most of all HAPPY that I'm finally doing something totally great just for ME and I can actually look forward to my future and my health!

***UPDATE***

I am doing awesome and am almost 1 year out.  I have lost 116 pounds and still going!  Best decision I EVER MADE!!!  Thanks Dr. Wade Barker, you are my hero!!!!
