  1. nacnic, i am 8 weeks post op and just found a tasteless protein powder called BiPro. i bought it online and i mix it with greek yogurt every morning. a scoop gives like 20g of protein and it keeps me full a few hours. I like it because it is tasteless and is not sweet like other protein powders. It is like $40 for a giant jug but it is worth it!
  2. every dr is different but i am no alcohol of any form for a year.
  3. i was down 16 but im sure most of that was fluids i am 7 weeks out now and don 33 from surgery 50 from my highest weight. good luck and remember to measure your inches lost!
  4. I love salad but the ingredients never go down smooth. i can have any veggies or fruit that have waxy coating on the seeds the only thing that really gives me trouble is lettuce and cucumbers im about 7 weeks out too
  5. i could barely do 4 ounces for a long time now i can do 4 oz of anything really but if i go above that it comes right back up as u go u will learn if u have "one bite too much" before u swallow it. i am almost 2 months out now and feel perfect u will g et there too
  6. Cathi - I am about 6.5 weeks out and i can handle about 4 oz at a time, denser proteins like chicken or beef maybe a little less. You don't seem to be eating as much as suggested and I can't imagine you are getting in enough protein. It will hurt at first to do the 4 oz (or recommended amount by your surgeon) but try to get in good protein rich foods first, greek yogurt tuna chicken etc. Hope you find a comfy level for your sleeve!
  7. i also love the atkins protein drinks but they took a bit before i could tolerate them. i also was not able to get enough protein in so i focused on my water intake. sounds like u are doing great!
  8. im a month out, im a social 25 yr old, and i wouldnt even think about having a sip of a pop, let alone alcohol. you came all this way to risk it? yikes!

  11. i was just wonering the same thing i am 5 weeks out and down 24 pounds, feeling like i should be losing more, i lost 16lbs the first week then only 8 the other 4??? i couldnt stomach any protein though and was eating mainly cheese, so i am thinking that probably was why. i am trying to eat chicken and other lean proteins now and make sure i watch my calories per day

  13. eggs are okay for me (7 days post op) as long as i run them thru a blender first to get them small. i had egg salad for dinner tonight and it as great (only about 3 sloonfuls tho lol)
