Anything you wish you have known/done before surgery that you didn't?
definately would have started my fiber supplement sooner, waiting until you are in pain and cant go was a lesson well learned! i would recommend a few scoops of the tasteless benefiber into any liquid u sip. also i wish someone would have told me to buy the tasteless protein powder and NOT the isopure, yuck. i use bipro protein because after surgery any vanilla flavored protein was too sweet!!

Relationships?
its a big change especialy if one person goes through it and the other doesnt its important to discuss the health benefits over the food. i found myself talking too much bout food and had to wrangle that in to not annoy the crap out of others. once i did that my friends were more open to asking me about things. its just a balance but my surgeon told me that this surgery forces you to put yourself first which is something a lot of us DONT do which is why we end up over weight and unhealthy. good luck to you and we are all going through it together!

TMI- VERY heavy period... normal?
i used to have that pre-op, because i have pcos. i know how terrifying it can be to see that muh blood. have u missed any periods prior to this? my dr. advised me it could be a buid up of things that werent flushed out during the previous months of missed periods but i would check with your gyno or surgeon to see what their experience is with it.

Getting ready for surgery....
hi diane! i am 3 months out, and my surgery has helped me kick my prediabetes sleep apnea and balanced out my hormones. it is scary to take on this challenge, but only during the surgery. it is sooo worth it and this site offers amazing support! reach out to us for questions it will definately ease your mind! my tip would be to find a good tasteless protein powder so you can mix it in with your liquids post op. i use bipro and its great even now mixed in with yogurt. i was tied the first week post op but now i am back in the gym and i feel so much better than i used to. it really is a fresh start to a new life!!! and also some of that hormone that creates the hunger sensation is removed during the surgery i hve felt no hunger just some acid which is remedied quickly by a tums now and again. good luck to you!!!

My roommate hid my scale
i had a stall bout 1 month out and was wondering the same thing. not sure if the body goes into "starvation mode" and tries to hold onto all of its fat? i walked as much as i could tolerate (slow walk!) and the more i did that the more inches that came off. i hope you take your measurements because i know that is where most of us see the biggest difference when it is not always reflecting on the scale!

Pinto Beans Question
they are great for some Fiber and Protein but their high carb count kind of negates the positives
