  1. This is great! I really enjoy reading everyone's NSVs. I went from a 42DD to a 38DD and now I'm having to be fitted again. I love it. And Leslie - you're doing fantastic for just having had your surgery a few weeks ago. Wait until it's been a few months and you can hardly believe how small you've gotten
  2. Well here we are the last day of 2011. December has been challenging for me. I weighed in at 201 today, which is down 2 pounds from last week. That makes my total loss for the month 9 pounds. I would've liked to have done better but that's water under the bridge. How did everyone else do this week / month? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  3. I am speaking from having lived in several countries, including an extended stay in Mexico. So yes, I am speaking from experience and would never have any serious procedures done anywhere other than the U.S. And to this who find my comment about socialized medicine insulting, my father waiting 2 months for a cast on a BROKEN leg in a country with socialized medicine (this was just last year), was insulting.
  4. The exact same thing is happening to me. I've dropped 70 pounds and I'm still a rolly polly. My rolls are smaller but they're all still there. And more things are jiggling now. I know I need to get on some sort of strength training program but I hate to exercise. Ugh. I know what you're going through.
  5. Don't give up! We've all come so far. Forgive yourself and continue on. In the past I've always been like, "well I blew it today so I might as well have some more of this or that". Don't do it. Look at how far you've come and keep going. We can do this!!
  6. Ok I admit it. This past week has been challenging for me. I went off track last Sunday having a 2500 calorie day. I felt ok about it because I actually still lost a pound and a half by Saturday. So today I allowed myself to go off track again and I consumed a whopping 2200 calories. I still track everything on Myfitnesspal even when I have days like this but wow. I knew Chistmas would be a difficult time with all the baking and cookie exchanges and big meals. Tomorrow needs to be the day I get back on track and don't allow myself to get off until like Valentine's Day. Did anyone else allow themselves a free day today? I'd like to know what others did to get through this.
  7. Has anyone experienced numbness in their arms and legs since surgery? When I sit and cross my legs, the leg on top goes numb pretty quickly. Also if I lay on my side with my arm underneath me, my arm goes numb and my hand and fingers get really cold. This is just something I've noticed more lately. Does this indicate a Vitamin deficit or a circulation problem? Thanks for any advice you can give.
  8. Hi all. It's a very Merry Christmas Eve! What a wonderful time of year. I weighed in at 203 today for a loss of 2 pounds. This sleeve is the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. I'm loving my life and actually excited about getting clothes for Christmas. How is everyone else doing this week?
  9. ** protein, not salt **
  10. I probably eat 3-4 Lean Cuisine meals per week. I love the Steak Tips and Broccoli. They have 150 calories and 15 grams of salt. I think they're great for times I'm really hungry. I also like the Fajita-style chicken rolls. Again, 15 grams of protein. Do what you think is best
  11. I want to thank each and every one of you for your replies. You guys helped me get back on track and start feeling good about myself again.
  12. Feeling like a real failure here. Today was a special Christmas meal at church. I ate and ate without logging anything. I told myself I could have this one "free" day. Now that I'm home and it's late, I'm regretting all that food I ate all day. I logged it all into My Fitness Pal and discovered I consumed 2500 calories!!!! What if I can't recover from this? Have I stretched my sleeve now? I'm worried the old food-dependent me is back. Has anyone else ever had a day like mine?
  13. Hi all. It's been a great and hectic week getting ready for Christmas. Of course this is my favorite time of year I weighed in at 205 this morning for a loss of 1.5 pounds. How is everyone else doing?
  14. Just a thought but have you tried increasing your calories for a day? When I stall I increase my calorie intake the next day or the next two days by 250 calories. Then I start losing again. Sometimes you just need to change things up. Let me know if you try it and if it works for you!
  15. Hi everyone. I've had a really good week after no weight loss last week. I'm down 4 pounds, weighing in at 206.5. Really excited about this because I no longer weigh MORE than my husband. He fluctuates between 206-206. I used to weigh 50 pounds more than him. Now as I've lost weight, he's lost some too and we're both about the same. I can't wait until next month when I can say I definitely weigh less than him I'm glad to see we're all hanging in there and working our sleeves. Have a good rest of the week!
  16. Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm going to keep going strong and see what happens.
  17. Hi Meggspeggs, I was sleeved 8/8/11 and I'm down 65 pounds. And it's been really hard. I still have to watch everything I eat, count calories and exercise. I ususally consume 1200 calories and 80 grams of Protein each day. I'm not one of the people who doesn't get hungry so that is difficult also. I don't think you're a failure. You've only been sleeved a little over 3 months. It can take that long to even learn how the sleeve works. I'm still learning things about mine too. Don't be discouraged, follow the nutritionist's advice and the weight will come off. And look at it this way... if it comes off slow, maybe you won't have the horrible hair loss that I'm dealing with There's always a plus side!
  18. Hi Eveyone. Hope y'all are having a great day. I've been reading some posts on here about weight loss really slowing down during months 6-12. Is this true? One person said their doc said she should've lost more weight in her first 6 months and now she probably won't make goal. I'm really worried about this. I haven't lost a ton of weight since my sleeve date but I think my numbers are pretty good. Will my weight loss really slow down next month when I enter month 6? I have another 63 pounds to lose before I make goal. I didn't have this surgery to still be a fatty. Please share your experiences with me and let me know how the weight loss went during the 6-12 month period. Thanks everyone.
  19. I agree with the original post. The US has higher standards for health care. Period. (until we go to socialized medicine that is)
  20. This week was flat for me too... no loss. I haven't been exercising like I should either. I'm going to step up my Protein and my exercise this week. Looking forward to posting a good number next Saturday. I'm glad everyone had a good week and that Libbe is home Love y'all!
  21. Notsochubby, just curious, how many calories did you / do you eat per day? How much protein do you get per day?
  22. Ok August All Stars - How is everyone doing this week? I'm down 4 pounds from last week. I can't believe it. I've been working pretty hard this week and I love the results. Thanksgiving day was not bad for me and I'm glad I got through it under my calorie goal and ate tons of Protein. Yesterday.... well that's a different story. Every once in while I have a day where I'm just hungry all day long. I ate around 1700 calories yesterday. That's very high for me since I ususally stick to around 1000/day. I guess I'll be doing some heavy activity today to pay for that Hope you all had a great week and a totally wonderful Thanksgiving. We have 3 1/2 weeks until Christmas and I know we all have goals we want to reach before then. Love you guys!
  23. Down 3lbs this week! Weighing in at 215. I'm pretty happy about it. I actually hit 215 on Wednesday and have been there ever since. Looking forward to dropping another pound or two this week. I exceeded my Thanksgiving goal by 4 pounds which is amazing. I love my serve
