  1. Beautifulnewme- wow! 8 pounds is crazy. Looking at my foods on mfp, I can see the sodium has gotten kind of high recently. I'll try to get that down as much as possible. Good idea. I did not know Water could make an 8 pound difference. hm734- your question did not really upset me, I'm just frustrated with the whole situation. I did not mean to come across harsh, I've drank 80 oz of water today, I'll let y'all know if I'm in the bathroom all night
  2. hmr734- Im not a doctor or nut and I guess everyone is different. I can't imagine eating 1400-1600 calories a day and gain so much weight that I need wls. With tests, my doctors have determined my bmr is 1510. That's the amount I need to eat (at least) to maintain. So for me, if I ate 1600 calories I would not gain. My doctor is fine with 1600 a day for maintenance. I think everyone is missing the point. I was trying to ask what to do about water weight and bloating. Even if people think 2000 a day is a lot of calories, mathematically, it only equals 500 calories over my bmr, so in 7 days I MIGHT have gained a pound. I could not have gained 7 pounds in 5 days. It's frustrating.
  3. I'm almost certain it's water weight but I don't know what to do about it. Doc said no water pills. I'm not constipated but Im not "going" either. I'm soo bloated. No other health problems that I'm aware of. I know 1800 sounds high but it's not high enough to gain 7 pounds in 5 days and I still exercise every day.
  4. Yesterday was the last day of TOM
  5. I do not have my gallbladder. Does that matter?
  6. I've gained 7 pounds in 5 days. I'm feeling awful. I don't understand how this could possibly happen. I know I have to eat 3500 calories in addition to those I burn to gain a pound. I am NOT eating enough to gain 7 pounds. I'm bloated and feeling miserable. I track my food on myfitnesspal and yes I eat sweets occasionally but 7 pounds???!!!! Normally I eat 1800-2300 calories per day. Any thoughts? Oh, I don't know if it's related but in addition to being bloated, I'm burping.
  7. Hi everyone. I think a monthly check in is great. I haven't been posting that much lately because I'd been off the program and doing kinda bad. So far I've lost 94 pounds, going from 272 to 178. I'd like to lose 10 more pounds and I think I'll be cool with that. My loose skin is only under my arms and it doesn't bother me much. I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone else is doing too
  8. 82% at 9 months......and holding! Ugh!
  9. Thanks for the replies everyone. Kristy- at least you only have those 15-25 to get off, right? I eat sweets every now and then too. I allow it . Coops - I think you're right about the number on the scale, it's not the most important thing. I still want to lose at least another 10-15 pounds though. Not because I'm vain but because I'm still fat. Also, I miss the days when I could really see my hard work paying off quickly. I miss those pounds just dropping off. Like the other poster said, I'm going to kick up my exercise this summer. Thanks to everyone who replied. You all are understanding and encouraging
  10. So I was 9 months out on 5/8/12. During that time I've gained self confidence and self respect and lost 92 pounds (and a great deal of my hair). I admit, I look like a totally different person now and I even enjoy going shopping. My issue? For the past 2 months I haven't lost any weight. I also haven't been trying that hard. I'm bored with "protein first" and "low carb". I still exercise almost daily but my eating habits are in the toilet. I still have at least 20 pounds to lose. So why have I just given up? If someone has some insight or opinions please share
  11. Jill - when were you sleeved? I was sleeved 8/2011 and I'm down 90 pounds. I WAS down 93 pounds but I've gained 3 pounds back. I've been eating hard candy, ice cream and popcorn. I feel ridiculous and know I need to get back on track. Sounds like we're in the same boat. If you want a buddy, friend me on MFP. I'm Prinxessdeb. We'll get back on track together. We can do this!!
  12. Congratulations on your loss! I know the rest of your journey will be just as amazing
  13. Try the sugar free jello pudding. I make it with either skim milk or 2%. I find 1/4 cup serving yummy and satisfying.
  14. Kristina, I know what you mean. I get really hungry too. And my husband likes to go out to eat a LOT! On a good note, I am back on the losing team again. Weighed in today at 182.3... so about 183. It's not fabulous but I'll do better. I'm averaging about 1 pound a week now. I really need to step up the exercise though cuz things are jiggling that shouldn't be jiggling. I wonder where all the other August sleevers are. There seem to be about 4-5 of us that keep in touch but I know there were many more. I hope everyone had an awesome week.
  15. It's that TOM and I've been eating like a FREAK this week. In fact, today I've only had 17 grams of protein. What the heck am I gonna do? Ugh!
  16. Give yourself a break, forgive yourself, and then get back on track. Had you been tracking your food while you were losing consistently? If not, I suggest myfitnesspal.com or some similar program. It helps me really see what I consume all day. Lately I've been snacking in the afternoon something awful. If you find yourself weak at a specific time of day, try to find something else to do during that time. We can and will do this! Keep your head up and keep pushing forward
  17. I am 6.5 months out and my hair loss has really slowed down. My hairdresser says it's a lot better than it was a few months ago. Yours will slow down too. It does recover
  18. Well people, another week has gone by. How is everyone doing? Some great news today, I weighed in at 185 so that's two pounds down from last time so I'm excited More good news... my hairdresser says my hair is in much better shape than it was a few months ago. Some of the shine is gone, and the texture feels a little different, kind of cotton-like. But it's not falling out like crazy anymore and actually coming back some. I think it looks pretty good. So how is everyone else doing? Kristina- thank you for the encouragement last week. It really helped kick me back into gear.
  19. MissBliss, I was sleeved 8/8/11 and I think my hair might finally be coming back too. My stylist said it's recovered enough to even go back to the coloring she was doing before surgery. I finally get my lovely blonde back this Saturday (and my grey covered). Yay for us!!!
  20. Thanks for the good advice everyone. Circa - thanks for the advice. The treadmill is in the family room where the tv is. A lot of times that helps, but sometimes I just don't get my arse off the couch. thinoneday - I agree with you.. I am bored. I've decided to join a Pilates class and go twice a week. dorrie - I tried to find a therapist in my area but no luck. I will have to drive a little over an hour to see one. I find this very frustrating because I think it really would help. Meg - get rid of all my crap food? really? should I? could I? I don't think I can. Again, I know this is a choice I'm making but I keep telling myself I can deal with stuff in the house. I don't have Cookies or chips or anything so its not that bad but this Mountain Trail Mix that Walmart sells tempts me everyday and is full of fat. Maybe I'll stick it in my hubby's car so that he can munch on it all day. Time 2 Lose - thanks so much for your RISE ABOVE IT list. I'm posting it on my fridge. That was awesome!! and thank you everyone else that responded. I'm back on track today and my goal is to keep myself on track for lent. so another 44 days. I know I can make it. We all can.... Thanks again everyone. You guys are great.
  21. Hi everyone! It's been over 2 weeks since I've really been trying to follow my program. This is my fault. I'm making CHOICES that I don't want to eat the right things and I don't want to exercise. Then I sit in front of the couch and completely overeat. And when it's time to go to bed, I reflect on how bad I've done all day, and the fact that I'm probably GAINing weight, and I cry. Can anyone help me??
  22. Hi everyone I haven't been doing well these past few weeks, this week especially. I've been eating candy, valentine chocolates and whatever else I wanted. Ugh. What a fatty! I weighed in at 186 today, which is down 3 lbs from the last time I checked in (2/4) but somehow with the way I've been eating I don't think it's real. Anyway, I'm really bummed about my eating and nonsense. Love you guys. Stay encouraged cuz you two are doing great!!
  23. Was a 42 DD. Now a 36 D. In a shirt and bra they look fabulous. Naked they're deflated balloons.
