    Dear lap-band,

My surgeon also gave the ok for beer and soda ... Soda is too much but some beers I can tolerate just fine.

What's on your "Do Not Eat" list?

Hamburgers are def on my list too! And bacon ... I love both but it's not even worth trying anymore, I just feel so awful afterwards

    Protein?

What is the recommended daily dose of protein? 64g?

    Protein?

So drinking a Protein shake with 42g of protein is overkill? Maybe drink half and then half at another time?

    Protein?

Why no more then 20-30g at one time?
  6. Being on this site is a waste of time. I come on here for advice and to see if I can somehow help others. It doesn't seem to be the place to do that anymore. Instead I come on here and there is nothing but immature bickering. Can we all act our age?

    Is this normal?

I had my 2nd fill today. The first was a few weeks ago and really did nothing. Today however is a different story. I can't really take two sips of water without feeling like it might come back up. I've been reading some posts that say its due to swelling. So I'm wondering if what I'm feeling is normal or if maybe the band is too full now?

What's on your "Do Not Eat" list?

I'm just curious if anyone knows why it's different from fill to fill? Or is it just one of those mysteries?

What's on your "Do Not Eat" list?

I went two and a half years with no problems. Just had my second fill on Friday and tonight I had a problem with grilled cheese on wheat bread ... Never had a problem with it before :-(

    Is this normal?

Well today things are better. I was able to eat about 1/4 a can of Soup and was satisfied without feeling like it would come back up. It's been 2 1/2 years since I was banded and this is only my second fill ... It's hard to remember if this is how I felt after my band was put in or not. Thanks for your answers!

I guess I probably have to get through the weekend though. If it doesn't improve by Monday I will call and get it defilled.
  13. I will probably be going for a fill in the next month or so, and would like to know what to expect as far as paying for the fill. I know all insurance companies are different, I have Horizon. Just wondering what I can expect as far as payment, if insurance will cover it and I will be responsible for the co pay for for the whole thing.
  14. I do it too! ... I think it's a motivator for me. I see the pounds coming off and it keeps me going on the days that are difficult. I was banded on May 10th, so I'm almost 2 weeks out. So far 20lbs are gone, and it makes me so happy! That would not have been possible for me any other way! I look at everyone's weight loose tickers, and see everyone's success and it makes me so excited that in a couple months that will be me!
  15. I am 6 days out, and agree. I think I'm hungry. Sometimes I think it could just be the left over Co2 from the surgery and that's probably part of it as I'm still burping like crazy. I'm trying to ignore it, but it's not easy. I keep a protein shake with me and it helps, but not for long. I'm thinking I want to start on soft foods, because I think I need to, but I'm afraid of getting off course and this whole thing not working. I see my DR in a week, and I think I'm going to beg him for my first fill as soon as possible to see if that helps.
