  1. I have been using Realizemysucess.com - it was recommended by my surgeon and they have access to it, so I don't have to print out my food diary. They also have a pretty good recipe database which is available after surgery and has serving sizes automatically set for 4 ounces which is nice. I could access it on my smartphone if I wanted to.
  2. I'm just 3 weeks out and just tried chili the other day while I was still on pureed foods. It went down well, but I couldn't eat too much of it due in part to the spiciness of it (and it was a little thicker than I had been eating).
  3. Everyone loses differently. If you were "on the lighter side" before surgery, then you won't lose as fast as those who are on the "heavier side". Don't compare yourself to others when it comes to weight loss. I also have not had any problems eating the appropriate amounts of liquids - they go down very easy. However, more solid things that are pureed, and now soft foods (that I started today) do not go down as easily and it's harder to eat the appropriate portion because of the restriction.
  4. I am using Firefox web browser with the "Ad Block Plus" plug-in and have NO ads.
  5. Well, it was getting red around it, so I called the surgeon today. The PA had me come in (the surgeon is out of town right now) and she took a look at it. On one side, the knot of the stitches was poking through, so she trimmed it. She said that it didn't look infected "yet" but it was definitely irritated and could develop into an infection, so she gave me a prescription for an antibiotic for one week just to make sure I won't get an infection.
  6. Congratulations! That's a great start!
  7. That's fantastic progress! Congratulations!
  8. Not every doctor requires a bowel prep. Mine didn't. Which, frankly, I was thankful for.
  9. I would recommend not stocking up on anything before surgery. After your surgery your tastes will change. Before surgery I really enjoyed Bariatric Advantage powders - now after my surgery there's a few that I can't stand because they are too sweet. Try getting some samples for after the surgery so you haven't spent a lot of money on something you won't like. There's a lot of places that you can get samples from.
  10. Welcome to the forums. Congratulations on making the decision to have the sleeve done. I'm sorry about your friend. That's rough.
  11. Welcome to the forums. Congrats on being so close to your surgery.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Yeah, there are a few people who have lost over 150 pounds on here. I want to lose about 140 to 150 pounds myself - so far I've lost 19 since my surgery 3 weeks ago.
  13. Sugar is a very quick source of energy. If you are eating a relatively large amount of sugar after your surgery, your body will simply use that for energy instead of the "harder" process of burning fat for energy. If you are not burning fat for energy, then you won't be loosing the weight like you should be. Also, if you take in too much sugar in one sitting, you could experience dumping syndrome even with the sleeve. Essentially, the sleeve says "I want Protein - not sugar" and expels the sugar back the way it came from. It doesn't happen to everyone, but there is a chance of it.
  14. Congratulations! That's fantastic!
  15. Congratulations on the weight loss. That's great!
  16. Most people say that the unflavored protein still has a flavor to it. However, I have had the unflavored protein from Optimum Nutrition and didn't think it changed the flavor of things at all. Many others like the unjury unflavored (or the chicken broth flavored).
  17. I have been diabetic since 2003. I had the surgery 3 weeks ago. I am currently off all of my diabetes medication. There are several others on the boards who are in similar situations - or at least greatly reduced medications.
  18. I thought it was just me, so I've been doing a bunch of maintenance on my computer - and the buttons have changed back to what they were before.
  19. Congratulations on both things! That is awesome!
  20. For Christmas, a good friend of mine gave me as a present a pair of pants (which frankly I needed). Unfortunately, while they did fit, they didn't fit right if you get my meaning. Well, today I put them on without really thinking about it, and they fit right! The waist band is a little loose, but the rest fit right and they are comfortable. Yay me!
  21. I tried 2 of the small bottles of alpine punch and I couldn't stand the taste so I didn't drink the rest of what I had bought.
  22. I had been leaving them all open to the air and not putting anything on them. I only did it because it bled a bit and I wanted to make sure it didn't get infected. I plan to take it off in the morning. Thanks.
