  1. Yup, I've had it too. It was really good.
  2. Yes - just strain it. A number of people have had it.
  3. Congrats on the weight loss! Hope your foot heals up quickly!

I need a hubby like that!
  5. It amazes me at how some people become nurses. My sister teaches nursing for a community college and tells me the stories of her students that she flunks out (who will typically appeal, and re-take the the class with a different instructor who doesn't care and just passes them). It's really sad. A person really has to be their own advocate - and even then sometimes have to be a little "insistent" to get the care they should.
  6. Good thing you are working ahead in your class. It took about 4 days before my head cleared enough for me to "focus" on any type of work. You'll do fine!
  7. Collagen is the brand I use - it does have good flavor.
  8. Thanks - I think I will pick some up when I go out later. Thankfully, the cramps have gone away slowly on their own. But I will get some to have on hand for next time.
  9. You'll do great! These 2 weeks will pass very quickly.
  10. Congratulations - what a wonderful start to the new you!
  11. My surgeon won't let me put anything on the incisions yet. He told me I could get benedryl for the itching though. As soon as I can start putting something on, I will.
  12. Ok, took me a while to find this post again... LOL I'm already almost 1/2 way to my goal. I had surgery last Tuesday and I never in my wildest dreams thought I would lose 11 pounds in one week. I have lost another 3 pounds in the last 2 days even getting my TOM yesterday! I guess I should have aimed higher with my goal, but I still have just over 15 pounds to go before I hit this goal and about 6 weeks to do it... lol
  13. Sorry you had so many problems with nausea. Glad you are home and feeling better though!
  14. Ok, so TOM was supposed to visit on the 12th - the day of my surgery. Well, he didn't show up until yesterday. Normally I get migraines with my TOM, but this time not. Instead it's cramps. I don't have the pain medication that the surgeon prescribed (when I went to get it filled, the pharmacies I tried could not get it) and frankly didn't need it. I'm just wondering what could I take to alleviate the cramps? Any other ladies have this situation?
  15. Self pay here - just under 2 months from initial consult to surgery.
  16. Mine started itching Saturday. I know it means they are healing, but it's driving me nuts! I think I'm going to get some benedril today to see if that will help.
  17. Unfortunately no, I don't know the cost of it - it was built into the price I was quoted. It was $15,300 for the surgery (everything included for the surgery), 1 year of followup care, BLIS coverage for 90 days, 6 months membership at the fitness center, 2 meetings with a personal trainer.
  18. Before my surgery, I would always eat like there was no tomorrow the week before my period. Once my period hit, then I wouldn't want to eat at all for a week. Glad to know others experience things like it too. I had my surgery last Tuesday - supposed to be the first day of my period. Well, it hit me yesterday. I imagine the fact that I am so close to my surgery is the reason why I'm still losing weight right now. I do not look forward to that changing.
  19. My largest incision is like this too - but I noticed that there is a "piece" in the center that has come "off" and it looks "normal" where that part of the scab came off. They itch like the dickens, but I don't mind it as much when I saw that.
  20. 6 days after my surgery I was getting 60+ ounces of water and 60+ g of protein in. You're doing just great!
  21. Cincinnati Chili is NOT real chili. It is a greasy stewed meat monstrosity that frankly lacks any real texture and looks like it has been regurgitated several times. I've tried both Skyline and Gold Star and both made me regurgitate! Real chili has Beans and texture. I'm not a fan of real spicy food - it flares up my roseacea something awful and sometimes does not set well. I can tolerate chili powder in chili but that's about it.
