    Feeling discouraged...

I don't think you're doing anything wrong but you might consider upping your calories and carbs. Some people lose more when they take in more food. Sounds ridiculous but it's true. What does a day's worth of food look like for you? I had my bypass on Nov 16th and my intake is kinda all over the place but I usually get 800ish calories and ~50g carbs and my loss is steadily plodding along.

    Daily carb goal?

My plan just says the Protein and Water goal every day, and that "one serving" should have no more than 14g sugar and 7g fat.

    Daily carb goal?

Yes, 100g carbs seems like a ton to me but she said "your body needs at least 100g of carbs a day to function". Isn't that really outdated advice? How could millions of people be doing Keto and not dropping dead?
  4. I had my 2 month post-op today and asked about carb amounts per day, since it's not in writing on my food plan. She said my goal is 65g Protein, 64 oz Water, and 100g carbs/day. That seems like a high number of carbs to me! Anyone else have a carb target they can share?
  5. I didn't truly realize that when I drank, I chugged. Can't do that anymore, and even just drinking 1-2 gulps at a time feels ridiculous so I'm not getting all my water in every day.
  6. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy recovery was. When the surgeon told me I'd go home just taking liquid Tylenol I thought he was insane- but it really was all I needed and I was done with it after a few days. I was very surprised how upsetting it was to not get to chew (pre-op and post-op diets). It didn't feel like I was actually eating and that was a hard mind game to play.
  7. You won't feel fullness until you start eating more solid foods.

    Band Revision Patients?

I had a Realize Band for five years- removed in the spring and revised to RNY in November. So far I'm very happy with my choice!

    Scared of Parties!

Is it a lunch at a restaurant or a home party? People won't even notice unless you're all sitting around a table and your plate is empty. It's pretty easy to say "I'm not hungry" and leave it at that.

    Gained weight on purpose?

I was around 36 or 37 BMI when my primary care doctor suggested I gain weight to get to 40 BMI to have a revision from band to RNY. When I first weighed in I was instructed not to gain any more weight- but also not to lose any! It's HARD to stay at 40 legitimately. Weighing down your pockets... That's a dangerous game to play.

    Gastric Bypass

You're not going to feel what full is like until you start eating solid foods. At 3 days post op you're still fully on liquids aren't you?
  14. Pre-surgery I was a binger. I got comfort (or at least thought I did) from that full feeling. I'm about 6 weeks out from RNY and no, I am NOT binging. But full sneaks up on me! I'll be eating some cheese and bam, I go from fine to ow, too much. Is this the way it'll be going forward? I'm fine with it if it is... Just wondering if full, whatever full is (right now it's between 1-2 oz) is always going to be uncomfy.
  15. My pain was almost none. I took the narcotics in the hospital but by the time I got home 2 days later I only had liquid OTC Tylenol for pain and I only took it a few times. You'll be OK!
