Red Velveter's
Everyone is doing wonderfully. Congrats on all the weight loss. I am currently at 62 lbs down total with 40 of that since surgery. My relationship with eating is getting better each day I was having some trouble for a little while. One day chicken was good and the next chicken was a no no, made it hard to plan things. All seems to be going well now. Wishes for continued success for us all. I just noticed Michelle that you and I plan to lose the same amount of weight. you are doing so well. Good for you.

BYE~BYE!
Congratulations. I hope to be joining you in the 200's in the next couple months. Such a great feeling I am sure. I never want to see 300s again.

Any horse people on this site?
I don't know if you would call me a nut but I do love horses. Because of my weight I haven't ridden in years. I used to ride when I was a kid at a local stable, I was in a show once. The last time I rode was probably 12 years ago or so before I got too big to do so. It is one of my goals to be able to ride again. Growing up I always wanted to own a horse but I don't have the land or the funds to do anything like that.

Over 400lbs
My highest weight was 390 and I am only 5'1". So far so good with the sleeve. My surgery was 9 weeks ago and in total I have lost 62 lbs. Still have 198 to go basically. With just the small amount i have lost so far, in comparison to what I need to lose, I feel so much better. I can get around much more easily and and am not winded just walking around anymore. I am even finally starting to see a difference in the way my clothes fit. I am not ready to go down a size yet but I can tell my tops are fitting more loosely and I am down about a bra size, my old ones are way too loose. Keep reading here on the forums there is a wealth of information. You can definitely do it without the bypass.

Bypass Revision posts?
I clearly recall seeing at least 2 posts in the last several months where someone mentioned that they had or were thinking about having their RNY reversed and converting to a sleeve. Can anyone help me out or remember who made those posts? Or even the name of a Doctor that does that kind of thing? I am asking for my Aunt who had a RNY back in 2000 and would like to find out more information about a possible conversion. She would be willing to travel anywhere if they can help her. She had a hack doctor in PA, dunno his name, but for the last 11 years she is in pain every time she eats. She has been told that her pouch was done incorrectly and she has almost like a sink trap curve so things have to go uphill before they go down and food gets stuck/caught. I don't know all of the specifics of it. She has been taking narcotics for the last 8 years to ease the pain from eating so she can have a regular meal, otherwise she has to puree everything. Today was the first time I have talked to her since my Sleeve. Even though I see her always on holidays picking at her plate and taking liquid meds during the meal. I just didn't know the full extent of her issues until we talked today. She has been seen by Bariatric doctors here in CT in the past and they have all said there was nothing they could do, I don't believe she has talked to anyone recently. If there is even a slim chance that a Dr. can help her she would like to at least talk to them. Thanks for any info.

Weird reaction this morning
I didn't feel great for the rest of the day. I ate a very small, low protein lunch because it was bland, then I started feeling a bit weak. I had a pure protein bar at like 3pm and dinner went down just fine, some beef and brown gravy. I agree with you, i start to think I know what I can eat and then the next time I have it it doesn't always go down right.

Weird reaction this morning
I think you may be right about the sensitivity thing. I seem to be able to eat a better variety of flavors in the evening and in the morning it is typically cream of wheat or something pretty bland. And, the chicken was pretty dry but I don't think I was going to fast. Chicken has been up to this point one of the easy foods for me to eat. Thanks for your responses.

Weird reaction this morning
So i decided to bring some of the chicken I made in the crockpot to work with me today. I was going to eat it for Breakfast since I typically don't get a lot of Protein in that meal unless I drink a shake (can't eat eggs). So I am at work and I ate about 1oz of the chicken and I suddenly have this overwhelming feeling that I am going to be sick. Well I barely made it to the bathroom before I vomited all I had just eaten. I have never had a problem with chicken before and I just ate this same chicken 2 nights ago for dinner. Of course after it happened I feel just fine now. I have only thrown up once before this since surgery, it just seemed really weird. Any ideas? I was taking Prevacid for my acid reducer and ran out and I had a coupon for Prilosec so this morning is the first time I took that, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

hospital wants out of pocket amount up front
My hospital co-pay was 300 and I asked them if I could make payments and they had no problem with it.

Will they MAKE you wear your CPAP at the hospital?
I wore mine and they hooked my O2 up to it as well. I have had mine for many years as well so I can't sleep well without it.

First time
Welcome to the forum. Good luck on your surgery. My surgery was on May 3rd and I have some of the same things on my wish list too. I would have never lost as much as I have so far if not for the surgery, still have quite a long way to go and looking forward to it.

CPAP Issues
Thanks to everyone for your responses. I found the instructions to change my pressure online and I will experiment with it rather than wait for anything else to happen. My pressure was 11, I am going to see what happens with 9 and go from there. Thanks again.

CPAP Issues
I just made a phone call to my medical supply company to see if one of their respiratory people can call me back. I hope they can do something to help. Since I have lost a good amount of weight my mask is now causing me to swallow air and/or pass air out of my mouth in the night causing me to sound like I am making raspberries. While writing this they called me back and said they cannot do anything without a doctor's order. He said it sounds like my pressure setting is now too high. I no longer see the doctors that prescribed the CPAP to me 4 years ago so gonna contact my primary and see what if anything they can do. Anyone else run into this issue? I'd hate to have another sleep study now knowing I am just going to continue to lose weight. I have quite a long way to go yet. If i stop wearing it for any length of time I start feeling like total crap. I can't wear it waking up every morning with a full stomach of air, it is uncomfortable.

Am I eating too much?
My surgery was also a day after yours. I have been having a Protein shake it the morning when I first get up, then trying to eat a little Breakfast, eggs don't really work for me anymore so I could eat a whole packet of cream of wheat or a whole yogurt cup. Then i will eat a string cheese mid morning, at lunch I am having the starkist lunch to go which is tuna salad and a couple crackers. Then this afternoon another cheese stick or fruit ( I brought watermelon today) and then for dinner tonight I will probably have baked chicken at least 4oz, a couple bites of a veg and probably a bite of rice. I don't think you are eating too much except for the possibility of too many carbs (I seem to have that problem as well) I can eat crackers and I have had my fav veggie chips but bulky bread I don't do well with at all. I had a 6 inch subway meatball marinara about a week ago and ate all of the meatballs and only like 3 bites of the bread it was on.

Hey how long till PIZZA
I am 6 weeks out today and haven't tried pizza yet although I would love a slice. I am holding out a little longer. I already know I can't have a significant amount of bread or I get messed up so it will have to be a really thin crust if I am to eat any crust at all.

How supportive is/was your spouse
I haven't read all of the posts in the thread but my opinion is right in line with sasicas. I could care less peronsally what my hubby is eating except when it comes to saving money. I have two teenagers and while we don't actively stock a ton of junk in the house there are things I shouldn't/wouldn't eat. I was never a big fast food person anyway my problem was portion sizes and now that isn't a problem anymore. We share the cooking in my house and my husband has always eaten anything I have made for the family even if it wasn't his favorite dish. If he makes something for himself and the kids one night that doesn't sit right in my tummy or is something I shouldn't eat, I just make myself something else and it is no big deal. My husband has been there for me 100% through this journey.

When you first left the hospital
My husband only took off the first two days I was home. I only really needed him to help me with getting out of the recliner, I couldn't push the foot thing back down by myself and I definitely needed help standing up, my incision pain was the worst for the first couple days but i was lucky, no gas pains at all and I took no pain meds once at home. I was completely incapable of getting in out and of bed by myself and had to sleep in the recliner for two days and then once I did make it in the bed, I had to sleep on my back for about 2 weeks, then I was able to move to my side and eventually stomach again. Everyone's experience varies. I fixed all my own meals and walked around on my own but got tired very quickly.

GOODBYE 300's!!!!!!!

Vitamins and juice
I was told only to drink fruit juice during the first two weeks post op, after that is has to much sugar in it. I love Sobe Lifewater and would drink that all the time if I could always have it i on hand.

Hypothyroidism
i have it as well and I guess it is still too soon for me to tell. I have lost 26 lbs since surgery 4 weeks ago but long term I don't know if it ends up getting really slow for us or not.

Discouraged and disappointed
I have lost 53 and I can kinda see it in my face but other than that some of my tops aren't as a tight as they used to be. I can't really tell. I didn't measure from the start either but it isn't too late to do it now. Some of us are just starting our journey and still have quite a ways to go. I think I may just go home from work today and take my measurements.
