First time

Hello,

I am new to the blog. I was approved for VSG and my appointment date is set for July 22, 2011. I have a few appointments left to attend-pre/post diet class, pre-op at hospital...then surgery. I am nervous, excited, scared....all sorts of emotions running through my mind. I have taken 3 weeks of vacation from work for recovery. I am having my surgery done at Scripps La Jolla Green and my surgeon is going to be Dr. Takata. I have been overweight since I was 8 years old.....I will be 31 in October. My heaviest weight used to 250. Then after the birth of my daughter I went up to 275lbs which then was my all time heaviest. Slowly over the next 6 years I managed to put on another 21 pounds. My current weight is 296 lbs. How embarrassing is it to weigh more than your man...not for long though.

So many things to look forward to....crossing my legs, swim suit shopping, wearing high heels, being able to run, taking full body pictures, painting my toenals without having to contort my body in some weird fashion....just to name a few. I am very lucky to have such a supporting family. I am excited my new life will begin on 7/22/2011

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck on your surgery. My surgery was on May 3rd and I have some of the same things on my wish list too. I would have never lost as much as I have so far if not for the surgery, still have quite a long way to go and looking forward to it.
