  1. Is anyone interested in doing this again this year (2012)?
  2. My exercise has changed over the last year. At first I was walking 30 minutes about 5 times a week. As time went on I increased the intensity. Right now I am exercising 3-4 times a week. I mix in jogging and walking each with each workout. I am currently able to jog for 12 minutes without stopping. My goal is to run a 5K sometime in May-June.
  3. I was banded March 1, 2011 and have lost 213 lbs. I eat anywhere from 500-700 calories per day. I find it easier to keep my calories down by drinking either water or sugar free drinks with 5 or less calories. I stick to 3 meals per day that consist of 4oz of meat and 1/2 cup of vegetables. I use no oil or fat when cooking my meat or vegetables. I find using the nonstick spray or BBQ grill help to keep the calories down by not having to use oil or butter. Mario

  7. These photos were taken on 8/20/2011, 6 months after surgery and 145 lbs lost.
  8. I am in! I was banded on 3/1/2011 and need all the support I can get to stay on course.
  9. Do you keep a food journal detailing everything you eat each day and keep track of the caloires, fat, Protein, etc? You will be surprised how fast the calories add up. Everyone has had great advise and the food journal is the only other advise I can think of. I was banded on March 1 of his year and still have not had a fill. The Dr feels it is still working and I am continuing to loose weight. Keep positive and great luck to you!
  10. Does anyone else want to keep this going? This has really been great helping me stay motivated. Maybe we can set a new goal of Labor Day? Who else is in?
  11. I found an excellent Protein bar ar walgreens. It is called pure protein. I go with the chocolate Peanut Butter. It is 200 calories for 1 bar, has 6grams of fat, 16 grams of carbs, and 20 grams of protein. They do get a bit pricey but I mix them in during the week when I dont want anymore egg white for Breakfast.
  12. MsGolden, Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and acknowledgement. It is a great motivation to hear those nice inspiring words. This is just the beginning of a life changing journey for me. --Go Cubbies
  13. I took a few pictures of the improved me yestarday while at my brothers. The lighting was not cooperating so they are somewhat bright. I put them in a gallery on my profile if anyone is interested. I weighed in today and am down 109 lbs!

    3 1/2 months and 109 pounds lost. I am down from 474 to 364.4!
  15. Thanks everyone for the support. I definitely need to set some summer goals. I want to get out more and not stay in the house watching tv during my days off. I want to find various social events in the area to participate in. I will take some pictures of how I look now and put them on my profile.
