Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.
I'm in too! It's sooooo hard getting back into the exercise routine, I've had a month break, my dad was visiting from South America and then my inlaws, but for me any excuse is valid. Before that I'd been going to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. On friday I started again did 1 hour step classs and 1 hour zumba, which was fun! I'm planning to mix cardio with a bit of weights to tone up tummy area and arms especially, good luck for all of us!

Does VSG curb carb cravings!
I'm nearly 4 months out, at first the I had no cravings for carbs (or anything else really) for the last month or so I do have the ocassional carb craving, the good thing is that with 2 weight watcher's cookies or a reeses snack (100 cal) the craving goes away and I still lose weight!

Constipation
I take benefiber and when that doesn't work my Dr said I could take other laxatives, like senoket. I suffer from really bad constipation now, and it's not nice at all! I think that other pain that went to you're back could be something else, do you still have a gallbladder? I would get checked just in case. Good luck!

Always been overweight!!!
I haven't been overweight all my life, but yes up and down, my highest weight being around 225 pounds a few months before surgery. In the last few years I have avoided looking at my body in any mirrors, windows or anything that reflected my body. Yesterday I was doing a zumba class and was looking at myself (i used not even look at the mirrors in the gym either) it was a great feeling not to be disgusted of my body anymore, even though I still have about 22 pounds to lose I know I am stil a bit chubby, especially around my tummy, it was and is very emotional for me:P

MSG - An Obesity Causing Chemical
I completely agree with Tiff ans Susanne, it was the tons of "healthy" stuff I was eating before surgery that was going to convert me into a morbidly obese with all the comorbidities that come with it. A bit of MSG won't hurt my otherwise healthy eating habits

Updates
Hey girls you're all doing so well! I'm on a stall (self-inflicted) my inlaws visiting from South America and my mother in law is a great cook, so I've been a bit naughty, plus my baby was 1 year old last week so I had some cake, pizza and Baileys They're leaving today so I've strated again hoping to lose at least half a stone before Christmas, so I'm gonna have to be extra good!

I finally weigh less than my boyfriend!
Isn't it a great feeling! I too weigh less than my husband now, and he is big, tall , he used to be a Rugby player! The funniest thing is that he didn't know that I weighed more than him, until now, he was in shock when I told him!

Sooo....should I not be eating carbs?
I'm 3 and a half (almost) months out and lost close to 70% of my excess weight in 3 months. My nut said the same, so, as you say I don't sit eating bread all day, but I eat way more than most people here (sometimes I'll have about 30-40 grs which for me is low, but most of the time I'm near to 80 grs) It's working a treat for me, I have NO cravings whatsoever, and even though I didn't/don't have so much to lose as a lot of people do I'm continuing to lose! So I guess it depends on your body, maybe give it a try?

Weight Loss - Zero Effort
That's the approach I'm taking now I'm nearly 3 and a half months out. At first I did stick to a "diet" plan, but when I went to my nutritionist she said it was ok once in a while to treat yourself. In the past I always used to cut out everything I liked then binge on it,that's what got me to the situation I was in before surgery. Now that I've lost nearly 70% of my excess weight I treat my self without feeling guilty. Yesterday I went to a friend for lunch, just has carrot and coriander Soup so I had 2 tiny bites of the chocolate cheesecake for dessert, still put every single bite in my calorie count. Good luck to you!

1 in 200 die ?
As the others above already mentioned the risks of dying of any obesity related disease are much higher then dying of complications of anaesthesia or surgery, don't be afraid, the stress won't do you any good, goos luck!
