  1. They are correct. They pump you so full of fluids and then you have swelling from the trauma. You will lose weight!! I also take prilosec for acid.
  2. This is my third day post suregery. Feeling pretty good. Throat still sore and not getting enough fluids yet but trying to drink isopure to get some protein. I have not had pain meds for 2 days. Sleep was difficult at home last night. Ended up on the couch at 0400. It wasn't to bad!!!

Get to go home today. JP drain out. 3 hour ride home. I was able to eat a serving of jello. Took 3 hours. Drank half a bottle of Isopure as well that took all day so at least 20 g of protein. Not enough liquid. Feels like swallowing golf balls. Ride home was tolerable no pain meds today. Loved taking a shower. Cold liquids more painful to drink!!

This was a tough day. Had no catheter so I had to get up all night to void. Pain was not to bad with pump. I did without pain meds from 6am -2pm and then gave in. Taken several laps around hospital floor with IV pole as a cane. I think I have 2 incisions with dermabond and one JP drain. Could not stand the dirty hair. Washed it in the sink at about 4. Made my JP site bleed but not so bad. Very tired and not looking forward to the 3 hour drive home. Passed my leak tests so I was given clear liquids. Could not take much of that. Jello was ok. Isopure was ok but only little sips of it. Jello is now 6 hours old and not even half is gone.
  5. I had surgery yesterday and am still in hospital. I tried togo without pain meds today and only made it until 2 this afternoon and then I gave in. I got to eat some Jello this afternoon and so far I don't think it is very pleasant. about one little cube every 15 minutes. I started getting up last night walking around the hospital. They did not use a catheter on me so I had to start getting up about 4 hours after surgery. I hope I feel better tomorrow. Best of luck to you on finding a good position to sleep. Do you have staples or derma bond. I have derma bond and I JP drain.
  6. I have not even had surgery yet. Scheduled for 09/22 I was supposed to start on the 18th. Must just be the stress.

  8. Sleeveorbust when are you scheduled for surgery? I get more nervous everyday. I am a RN so just thinking of the things that go on in surgery is making it hard for me to sleep!!! Susan thanks for the welcome. I think doing this together will make it easier on the other!!!

I could not sleep last night at all. I had bad dreams about anesthesia and that I was not completely out. They were trying to get to my stomach through my eye. I hope I sleep better tonight and the nightmares stay away. Just 2 more days.
  10. I am getting my sleeve done this week. Incredibly nervous!! I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight. My last try was HCG shots. I lost fifty pounds in two months but gained back 60 over 6 months. My husband and I are both doing this. His surgery is 2.5 weeks after mine. I pray this works well for both of us.
