  1. Hey guys...I'm doing ok overall. Thanks to support on this website I know I will get through this along with the blessings of the good Lord. My only problem is I'm only getting about 25-30 grams of protein a day. I get this through eggs and kellogs strawberry protein shakes(10grams). I've tried isopure fruit juices and it just left a horrible taste and film in my mouth! Any one have any suggestions for additional protein. I'm so scared ill going to be protein deficient when its time to do labs.
  2. Thanks guys...I know the weight will come off..I'm just so ready to lose atleast 20-30 pounds.
  3. Oh yes...one day I got up to walk around and I just started sweating like crazy..it scared me, but after I sat Down the sweating stopped. So it maybe our hormones or the meds!
  4. I'm so depressed right now...I'm about 3 weeks post op and I've only lost 10 pounds! Has anyone else had slow weight loss? Please help.
  5. Wow..keep up the good work....oh I have thrush too...I wonder what causes it.
  6. Do anyone know if there are any protein shots available? You know something with a lot of protein in it that you can drink in one sipping, that May include atleast 30 grams of protein. Please help.these shakes are nasty.
  7. Blessings to you on your journey
  8. Ok..Thks..I go see the NUT on 2/08/11..ill find out for sure that day.
  9. I was told to only take a chewable multivitamin complete for the first month. After the one month I would be started on calcium, b-12, and iron. Is this the norm for anyone else? It seems as if other post op patients start on all their vitamins right after surgery. I'm confused!
  10. Wow...that's great..I only loss 5lbs and I'm 8 days post op...I hope it speeds up.
  11. Thank you guys! I need this support! I know when I move to soft foods next week it will be so much better!
  12. Im 8 days post op and I burp all the time! If Im not burping, Im farting (yeah gross, I know). So I guess its fair to say burping is normal.
  13. Thank you for replying, I havent started on B-12 yet. The Doctors wait until your one month post op to start patients on B-12.
  14. Hello guys, Im 8 days post-op and Im so tired of the liquid diet! I get hungry every 15-20 minutes! I was forced to go back to work after a week home, so I was so weak at work today! NONE of my coworkers know I had surgery, so I cant even complian at work! I know this will get better but Im so discourauged right now! To make matters worse, IVE ONLY LOSS 2 pounds since surgery! PLease tell me it gets better! UUGH and those nasty Protein shakes! Im about to focus on becoming a millionaire and design a Protein pill! lol
  15. Dont Worry, I only loss 2 pounds on my pre-op diet! The Doctors didnt say a thing! They did my surgery and Im healing ok.. Sadly, Ive only lost 3 pounds and Im 8 days post op.
  16. Thanks guys for the motivation! I have to play by the rules so no more mushy foods until its time!
  17. Hello guys..I'm 1 week post op and I starting eating chicken noodles soup ( including the noodles). I felt awful about breaking the rules but I tried one bite and it went down ok, not to mention I just wanted some real food. After 6 days on the liquid diet, I just felt I needed something more. Am I wrong for breaking the rules? Should I tell my Dr. What I did? I feel ok, just still drowsy with the meds. Thanks for your input.
  18. Hello guys, My surgery is Tuesday and Im scared and excited at the same time! I weigh 192 and im 5 feet tall. I hope to get down to atleast 130-140 range. I dont want to loss to much weight because that is not a good look either. Today I was walking throught the mall getting some last minute surgery stuff like Vitamins and pajamas and my knees were hurting so bad after 15minutes of walking. Im so thankful that im getting this surgery so that I can walk around like "normal people". I will keep you posted on my success. Blessings everyone!
  19. Hello Brownbear....I am with your 100%! I am so scared but yet excited to start this new journey. I am an Affrican-American woman, age 32. I have married for 6 years. My marriage is on the rocks and I think some of it can be contrubuted to my weight gain. Granted thats should be no excuse but in todays society looks are "everything". Aside from looking unattractive to my husband, I feel unattractive as well. I have a pretty face but Im close to 200lbs and im only 5'1. So being pretty, short and fat is not a good combo! So to make a long story short, I think if we follow the rules we will be just fine! Just pray and ask God to watch over you! I will keep you in my prayers!
