  1. Get you some sf popcicles too! Congrats and welcome to bandland
  2. Im like you, banded in october, only 1 fill., eating good, solid whole foods and 2 hours later my stomach is crazy growling at me and almost burning im so hungry. I take some 0% fat greek yogurt as a snack to hold me over and still with snacking between meals im staying below 1000 cals/day and losing well. I don't think im at the green zone, but I'm actually looking forward to being there. I know it'll take time but in so happy with results so far. Almost 30 down (including preop) hang in there and find some protein packed, low cal snacks to hold you over.
  3. My hunger returned in week three. If you are following the packet they give you I am sure you are doing fine. I got my.first fill 2weeks ago and I noticed no.change. To the poster above, they do have a west location and that's where ill be getting my fills from now on. I was there for 4 hours to get my fill....sigh. But the receptionist said they were only there 1 or2xs peer month so call them to get scheduled.
  4. Im in katy! add me and ill send ya my contact info
  5. Thesame thing happened to me at week 3 and the scale was stuck for about 2wks. It finally started.moving again and has gone down ever since. Im about 6weeks out now. Hang in there. Your body is still healing.
  6. I was banded on 10/27 and have list 23 including what I lost in preop. Its definately been slow for me but I am cool with that. I also stalled on weight loss for almost two weeks when I went to mushies. Good luck to you! This was the best decision I ever made
  7. I had my first fill last tuesday and I feel no different. I have no idea haw much I had or what they put in bc I forgot to ask. The nurse wasNOT gentle looking for my port.
  8. This is about what I eat at one sitting.
  9. I am definatley not at restriction! lol I can easily eat a whole cup+ of food at one sitting and become hungry within an hour or two. I've only had one fill and am not letting my no restriction halter my success. I'm hangin in there. @the topic starter - I've had one fill and can handle bread. I don't often, but I have no problems with anything thus far.
  10. I'm only about 5 weeks out from my surgery but I am 100% happy I made this decision over the others. I, too, know someone with the sleeve and while she has loss an incredible amount of weight, she too has spent the last 7 months extremely ill and regrets her decision. No, that's probably not typical and all surgeries have risks, but there is no turning back with her. I liked the fact that LB was non invasive and reversible. Good luck to you!
  11. I think its normal. I lost 11 lbs in the first two weeks and then stalled for about two weeks. Im finally starting to see the scale move down this well. I was banded 10/27 and feel great now that I just had my first fill yesterday. Hang in there, it gets much easier.
  12. I lost 11lbs on preop and have only lost 10 since surgery at 5 weeks post op. I go for a fill tomorrow ang d hope I get some restriction. Seems like you are doing good. Bestof luck to ya!
  13. Hey we are band buddies! (lol) I was banded the same day and wish I had the same restriction as you! I go in for a fill on tuesday and I can't wait. I understand its different for everyone and some go through this whole experience without a fill. Best of luck to you and great job on your success!
  14. Im Lollicatt if someone wants to add me as well!
  15. I had surgery on 10/27 with hernia repair which they said was pretty significant. I had two weeks off from surgery which was long but my boss didn't want me over doing it plus I had the time. I started to feel so much better during my secind week but I got tired easily. I probably could have gone back that week though. Its not bad just take your pain meds and walk.
  16. Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your problems. I can only reiterate what everyone had said. Gas x cheewies and walk walk walk. The more I walked the better I felt. I too never realized how much I used my core but walking releases the stiffness and soreness. I hope you start to feel better soon!
  17. Thanks for sharing you're experience. I hope that I catch up too. I see all you with 20 something lbs since surgery day and im only about 8. My toal loss is including preop. I mean its not bad but I was hoping id be consistent. Im never giving up and I'm starting to enjoy walking. Im also doing real well with eating and staying in good calorie range. Excited to eventually see the pounds start coming off.
  18. Im at a standstill too right at three eeks post op. Its very frustrating but I keep heating its normal and that my body will figure it out and let go of some of this weight. Hope its true!
  19. I think the rumbling is gas and I heard that burp/hiccups means your full. I know it always happens when I'm done eating. Who knows?
  20. Hey everyone! I am at a standstill too with my weight loss at two weeks post op but I'm ganging in there. I stayed blogging about my journey if anyone us interested http://bandipes.blogspot.com

  22. Congrats!! I had no problems with bcbs of il and my doc said they were one of easier ones! Best of luck to you. Im blogging about my journey at http://bandipes.blogspot.com if you are interested.
  23. Just dint fall below 40 when they submit you for approval.
  24. Yea, im a little over two wks post op and im pretty hungry. Im still following the docs order but since I've been on mushies I'm up 1 pound. I can't wait for a fill.
  25. Hello - I started mushies today so I thought I'd help out and answer your questions as well. 1. What you are eating? - Today for lunch I had 2 turkey meatballs (mashed) and 1/2 cup of mashed potatos, i ate the whole thing with no problem ( I have ZERO restriction) 2. What you are drinking and if you can drink diet soda? - I drink Crystal light 24/7 - no sodas. My doc said it stretching your pouch is a bunch of balogna since it just slides through the band but it's empty calories and carbonation gives you bad gas. 3. What kind of Vitamins are you on and do you have any problems keeping them down? I take the Flintstones gummies, 2/day. I have no problem getting them down, even from day one. Some people have restriction right off the bat though, I didn't. 4. How often do you eat and can you tell me about how much you can eat at one setting? EX.. 1/4 or 1/2 cup of food? I eat 3xs/day (well drink Protein for bfast, eat for lunch and dinner), my lunch today was about 4 oz. 5. Any pain from the surgery and how long did the pain last if any? Very painful the first 3 days, but with good pain meds you'll be okay. I started to feel much better 4-5 days out until I bent over and squashed my insides (port area), but I still can't sleep on my stomach. 6. Do you feel hungry? I started to get my appetite back during the puree stage, but since lunch today, I am full and very satisfied 7. Was there a period before surgery that you had a limited diet and if so what? Yes, i had 2 weeks liquids. Protein drinks 2x/day and for dinner, 4oz of lean meat and 1 cup of veggies
