  3. You know...I've recently noticed this! Weird.
  4. I like Body Fortress protein powder from Walmart or Kroger, its great and inexpensive. I also use SoyMilk, berries, green tea powder, instant coffee, etc for my shakes to mix things up a bit. I'm currently blogging about products, shake recipes (and meal recipes in the future but I'm currently on pre-op), and my journey at http://bandipes.blogspot.com if you'd like to take a look.

  11. Im a pup lover and they snuggle with me too. My surgery is 10/27 and I am a little concerned about them jumping on my belly. One is a maltipoo and 22lbs, so he's definately on my lap alit. The other one is a boxer, about 50lbs and well, she loves my lap too! I think I'll be sleeping in a chair with a pillow over my belly
  12. Congrats all and fingers crossed to all that are still waiting. 10 days and I will be in Bandland!!!
  13. Helli everyone!! Im about to have surgery and bcbs of il is covering it. What happens if say, 6mos from now, I have a different insurance company? Will they cover the fills? Or if I need an upper gi or anything done lap band related? Do new insurance companies treat it as.preexisting condition? If I change insurance companies, can I expect anything lapband related to be OOP?
  14. Congratulations!!!! Thank you soo much for sharing your accomplishment we are all SO PROUD OF YOU! My surgery is in 11 days and I can't wait to post my 100 lbs lost photo.
  15. I'm on protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and then 4oz of lean meat and 1 cp of veggies for dinner. I can add berries, extracts, and SF pudding to my protein shakes for flavor. I get the Body Fortress ($15 for 2lbs, 26g Protein, 100 cal, 1g sugar, and (i think) 4 carbs). I have the chocalte that I blend with just soy milk and ice and its awesome. Then the strawberry I put frozen strawberries (no sugar added) and the soymilk & ice. I bring those with me to work for breakfast. Then for lunch, since I'm not dragging my Ninja blender (<-- awesome!) to work, I'm bringin the premade Muscle Milk light, that is not so great. Between lunch and dinner I'm pretty hungry but I'm making it. For dinner, so far, I've had chicken breast, with either garlic and herb or lemon pepper seasoning. Then, some veggies. I was at a Mediteranian deli the day before my pre-op started and I had these grilled lemon saucy zuchinni things and IT.WAS.AMAZING! So I've basically been recreating that every night so far. I just put lemon pepper on my zuchinni and grill it on the George Foreman grill its soooo good. Another night I took some butternut squash, cut it up like fries, put some sea salt on it and roasted them, yummy. So far, that's all i've done. What other recipes have you all tried???
  16. I meant stretching your stomach, not starving lol
  17. My doc says that some can and some can't with the diet sofa and beer but to listen to yor body. The carbonation starving yor stomach is balogna! The main reason they say no beer/soda is bc of the empty calories! Im on preop right now and I can't wait to have BEER! I dint drink it often, maybe twice a month so I'm not too worried about the calories...just have to watch the cals. Cheers and good luck!
  18. I agree with all of the above. I have no interest in being cut open, out and rerouted. Plus, I like the idea of it being noninvasive, reversible. I know many bypass patients personally that are sick and back to square one.
  19. I have a hiatal hernia too and am having it repaired with thee lapband. I sure do hope it cures it!
  20. I'm going to True Results and have my surgery scheduled on 10/27 with Dr. Reilly. He is great and is very straight forward with you about how it works and how YOU have to work with your band. True Results has been wonderful and has taken care of my insurance approval, they just told me where to be and when to be there and they did the rest! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check them out. Good luck to you and you can add me as well.
  21. I have Aetna as my primary insurance and I was denied because I couldn't show 2 years of weight history. So I'm having to use my secondary which was BCBS of IL.
  22. I started today too and of course, my cubie gets a delivery of scrumptious looking chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels...sigh
  23. Hey everyone! I start my Pre-Op on this thursday and I was wondering what your days were llike...eating/drinking wise...
