I guess that we all have unique and different experiences post op. I can say honestly that I did not go through a "resentment" phase. My issues were more of a mental acceptance of who I was looking at in the mirror (a different person) and dealing with that aspect, not so much what I could not consume because of being restricted.
I'm happy that you are doing better!

almost 2 yrs post op and can relate to everything said. Personally when I was losing the weight I would hit up the high end thrift stores and find awesome clothes.. and cheap...that's the way to go! People sometimes have a misconception that when you have WLS that its a "miracle" for obesity...that it just comes naturally.. This is so not the case.. It takes a lot of dedication and commitment to lose what you need to and get over the stalls and to maintain once your at goal...We should all pat ourselves on the back. TO this day I still have a problem when it comes to shopping... I went from a size 16/18 to a size 0-2... I will go into a store and pick up a pair of pants and mentally tell myself this size 2 will not fit....although it does.. My brain does not conceive the idea that I am that size..almost 2 yrs post op and still have issues with this...

I'm so sorry! I can relate to a lot of the things you've said through my journey. Things will fall into place, you have to believe that. I personally refused to discuss surgery with those who were negative about it. A lot of the negativity was from lack of knowledge about this procedure and assumptiions.
I was a diabetic on insulin and other meds to manage other health problems as well. I got the run around from the insurance company and decided to go through it and did self pay. Although it's been difficult financially, it was so worth the investment. I am off all meds to include my insulin shots, and have a life that I can enjoy with my family.. Keep your head up. All will work itself out.

insurance companies are funny. Mine was self pay so I was scheduled quickly, but I know many people who were approved in a month and some that took 3 to 4... Good luck
