Dizzy Feeling
I am almost 3 weeks post op and have the same feeling. Dizzy spells. I have not passed out. I drink 7+ glasses of fluids a day so I don't think its dehydration. My urine is not a bright yellow either. At my 1st followup appointment with my PCP 10 days post op, my blood pressure was low. At that time she asked me if i got dizzy when I stood up and I wasn't having the spells at that time. I meet with my surgeon and I will be bringing up this issue. I've noticed the more calories I get in a day, the better I feel. Its hard because my post op diet is very strict. I'm only allowed 3 meals a day. No snacking, and a Protein shake is a meal not a liquid. My shakes are only allowed of 4 ounces as well. Very strict so I have been struggling to get over 250 calories a day. Very low. I do not take any blood pressure meds, but I have a feeling that I will be prescribed some to increase my blood pressure. I also haven't started my Vitamins yet except my B12 per there guidelines. I'm sure once I start up again, I will start feeling better.

Sleeved May 31st and Feeling Great
Liquid in, liquid out lol. My first BM was on Friday. It has been pure diaherra. Several times a day. And yes my a-hole hurts and burns. I will talk to my NP tomorrow about maybe taking some imodium soon. I should be switching to purees shortly so it should get better. Each day I have been going less and less.

Sleeved May 31st and Feeling Great
Hello Everyone! I finally am on the losers bench. I was sleeved Tuesday May 31, 2011 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah Wisconsin. My lead surgeon was Dr. Raymond Georgeon but they also have a second surgeon in the OR and Dr. Kevin Wasco was the second surgeon. I am feeling absolutely great! I am only 25 years old and I think I have my youth on my side. The second day was the worst and since then I have felt great! I was up doing several laps around the 6 floor the day of surgery and have been walking and sipping since. You can follow my journey on YouTube: Clear liquids yesterday. I do sip all day long and get about 8 ounces in an hour. This was my very first hospital experience and I have to say I am so thankful everything went so well. My bougie was a size 40 so that scares me a little bit that it might be too big. My swelling has gone down and I don't feel much pain or discomfort anymore. Dr. Wasco told me they like to use a bougie larger then a 32 because there is less swelling and complications. Maybe that is why I'm doing so well. Hopefully once I start mushies I can start feeling restriction because at this point I don't feel anything. Dr. Wasco also told me that a 40 is not much larger then a 32 and I shouldn't worry because it will work. I guess I just still have that fear that this will be another failed attempt at weight loss. Only time will tell. I just feel like I'm doing to well at this point which scares me that its not going to work. Once again only time will tell. Thank you all for your support. I am really on top of things on my YouTube so if you feel like following my journey please subscribe to my page. Thank you!

Calling all May Sleevers!
Was sleeved in the 31st! Feeling pretty good. Watch my YouTube videos for updates! Yay to all of us May Sleevers! Were finally on the losers bench!

What size bougie did they use?
Thanks for all the replies everyone. After speaking with the second surgeon in the room, I was assured that they do a very tight 40. Right along the bougie. This is so I have less swallowing issues and less foamies. Things of that nature. I have faith that I will lose the weight and I can use this tool and get amazing results. It's just when I heard 40 I got so scared that it was way bigger then a 32. According to my surgeon and the second surgeon in the room, they both said my sleeve looks like the best the ever performed. My insides were clean and easy to work with. If that's the case, I hope I heal fast and start losing like crazy! LOL... thank you all for your support!

What size bougie did they use?
Hello, I was sleeved yesterday. I'm so excited to finally be on the other side. I was just told this morning that my surgeon used a size 40 bougie! I'm so scared that my surgery won't work. I'm thinking a 40 holds about 4 to 6 ounces of food. That sounds like so much! What size bougie did your surgeon use, when was your surgery, and how much weight have you lost? I'm so scared that my sleeve is to big!

Contraception After Surgery
This is all so very interesting. I will need to talk to my NP about all this. I was on the depo for almost 2 years and I gained about 80 pounds. Add depression Meds into the mix and it was a disaster waiting to happen. I was then on the pill taking 3 months on 1 week off so only 4 periods a year. It was great. Now I had to stop my pill because of surgery and you all got me wondering if I should even start up again. hmmm....

Contraception After Surgery
Why is birth control bad after surgery? Am I missing something? I was told I could start my birth control again 1 month after surgery.
-
Swimming--anyone know the wait time after surgery?
I asked that question today to my surgeon and N.P. I was told 4 weeks or until your incisions are completely healed.

Calling all May Sleevers!
Oh, just rub it in... lol... We got 9.5 inches here in Green Bay. Sure feels like its going to go from Winter to Summer with no Spring. Its crazy. I work in Appleton and love it way more then Green Bay. Feels like there is so much more to do, and Appleton is growing more and more every day. My surgery is May 31st and I'm getting very excited, I am also having lots of fears as it gets closer. But I can't wait either way!
