  1. It is very nice of him. However, he does want to use it too. Even though he has always been one of those bone skinny never has to do anything kind of people, his lifestyle of eating a bag of reeses and 4 hot pockets for dinner has finally caught up to him. So he wants to work out too. So did anyone get anything fun for valentines day?
  2. I had a follow up on Monday and it is normal. The swelling around your band has gone down now and you have no restirction. The doc said the very earliest he would fill me was at 4 weeks.
  3. I want to get out and walk so bad but it is rigid outside right now. I went on one very cold walk and I have walking at the mall but I really want to be able to huff and puff and get sweaty not in public.
  4. I am having the same problem. I am trying really hard to still sip though becasue I want to be in the habit of doing it after my first fill.
  5. Hey guys can I join in? I just got banded a few weeks ago and I am ready to get the ball going. 260-current 240 by April 15
  6. So I think my husband is buying me a treadmill tonight. Who would have thought I would be excited about a piece of fitness equipment?
  7. Tracy I know when my son was in the hospital they had bedside computers for the kids to use (University of Michigan). At the hospital where my surgery was done they have wireless access but you have to bring your own laptop. That is really freaky about the Peanut Butter. We are a Jif family so we had no problems with that.
  8. I showered the day after I returned home from the hospital (two days post-op). However my insicions were closed with Dermabond (glue) not bandages.
  9. Audrey let us know how it went!
  10. I don't know Chris some of us had to do Optifast shakes with no other food. I think Susannah had it worst becasue she had to to the optifast for 3 weeks, I only had to do it for 2.
  11. Glad to hear people are feeling well.
  12. My Mom was saying something to me about protien water. Thanks for the name now I will have to find some!
  13. I just bought the vanilla low carb isopure from GNC. I actually got the ginormous bucket (55 servings) since it was on clearance (expires in august). I really wanted the chocolate but since the vanilla was marked down from $103 to $60 I could not pass that up. I really like the bottled stuff. I have had the fruit punch and blue raspberry. Tastes like a dietish gatorade.
  14. That is great news Audrey!!!! Make sure to check and see if there are any criteria you need to meet before surgery (medically supervised diet, nutritionist, etc) so you can get the ball really rolling.
  15. Yeah no restirction sucks. I have none. I am not a big bruiser, not a big sweller so I don't think I am even swollen at all from the surgery anymore. I can gulp water and I am always hungry. My doctor said it might be possible to get a fill at 4 weeks so hopefully I can do that.
  16. Oh no he didn't. LMAO :heh:
  17. This is exactly why I do not have a scale in my house. I do not want to obsess over it. I weigh once a week at work and that is it. And some do need to realize that at 2 pounds a week you will lose 100 pounds in a year. I would love to lose 5 or 10 a week but you know what it took me a lot longer than a week to put on 5 or 10 pounds so I can't expect it to come off that quickly.
  18. You might want to get started on a medically supervised diet (either by your Dr., Medical weight Loss center, etc) becasue if you do get a job and ahve the insurance many require a 6-12 month Dr. supervised diet. That way if you do get a job that covers it you will already be on the road to meeting the criteria.
  19. www.medicredit.com Also check with some Dr.s in Mexico, they also have ways of financing. Many people ahve had a lot of success and are very happy with their surgeries done there.
  20. I am sure someone will chime in with the names of places that offer credit for medical reason but I cannot remember any right now. Maybe you could try callig one of those places to get approved. If you just have no credit it would probably be easier than getting something with terrible credit. You might have to pay a higher interest rate but you still might be able to find something.
  21. Another thing you might want to think about is having kids and such after a TT. I already have two kids and I know if I were to get a TT that I would not be stretching that area out again by having children because I already had them. I am not sure how having chidren affects a TT, if the skin goes back or what but it is something else to look into and think about.
  22. Is there any way that you can get a credit card of your own or find some way to finance the surgery yourself? I know when I was your age and i started college I was flooded with credit card brochures and such. I had like 5 credit cards. Can you check with a bank and see about taking out a loan? Do you have a job? I hate to sound like the b*tch in the situation but you need to step outside of the box and recognize that as nice as it would be for your Mom to help you it is ultimately your responsibilty to take care of yourself and your own wieght. If I had asked my Mom to pay for my surgery she would have laughed in my face. And she was a wonderful Mom. It is not my mothers fault I am overwieght, I am the one who put food in my mouth. She tried to help me, I played sports, I just have bad genetics. You can't go around in life blaming things on other people. Take responsibilty and solve the problem yourself. I am sorry if i sound harsh, and I am not saying this just to hurt your feelings. I just want you to see what the situation looks like from an outsiders perspective. I know how hard things can be, and I know how hopeless they can seem. I wanted to get the surgery for many years and was only really able to recently. I grew up as that fat girl. I know what it is like and how much it sucks. The point is if you really truly want this done, you can and will find a way to do it and not worry about relying on someone else to take care of the problem.
  23. Being younger you will have a better chance of your skin not sagging. However genetics play a part in it too. You are really not going to know until you get there. I am 26 and it is something I worry about too. I don't know if I could afford a TT or even want to go through surgery again for cosmetic purposes. I have never been thin and never worn a two piece bathing suit and I would love to have that experience. I do believe the scar would be low enough that you would still be able to wear a bikini without people seeing the scar.
