  1. I had a boyfriend who loved fat girls. Weirdest obsession ever. Every girl he dated and still dates is overwieght. Funniest thing is he is a skinny little thing himself.
  2. I got a treadmill. And a new ring since the diamond fell out of my old one.
  3. My hubby has a support ribbon that says "I support road head". I find it ironic that he supports something he is never going to get.
  4. Most of the friuts are good and the sweet potatoes are delicious. Carrots are pretty good too Yes, I am one of those Moms that shared the food with the kids when they were little.
  5. Dang you mean I am actually going to have to go buy a coat next year? Good to know I am not the only person to go through the winter coatless lol
  6. The carbonation will probably not feel very well in your tummy.
  7. Does the bouncing of the back fat ever stop hurting or do you have to lose all of it before it is less painful to run. I did manage to jog 5 of the 37 minutes on the treadmill today but man the lump of chub right above my bum was on fire!
  8. Are the bands like the long ones with the handles on the end? If so you can sit in a chair put your legs together and wrap the bands around your thieghs not super tight, but tightish. Then open your legs with the band on there for resistance. That should simulate the theigh machines at the gym.
  9. If she makes a comment to you next time about how she can say no to bad food ask her why she is overwieght. If she is making you feel bad then turn the tables on her.
  10. I have been having the same problem. I think I need a hobby. I had a hobby-eating. I have just been trying to keep myself busy so I don't think about it.
  11. Thanks James! Most of the loss is from my pre-op diet. I jsut want to take things slow. I don't care if I only lose a pound a week. After a year that would make me 52 pounds less than I am right now. My band is going to help me eat less but as long as I am getting all my protien in I will not be worrying about dieting. If I can only eat a quarter of a can of tuna fish you can bet I will be putting real mayo on it becasue I want to enjoy that quarter can. As bad as it sounds if it were between not getting the surgery and getting it if I gained some wieght, I would gain the wieght.

  13. Good luck with surgery for anyone going in today!
  14. I had problems sleeping to for the first week or so. Now I am sleeping great and I can even lay on my stomach a little bit.
  15. Ugh today was back to work for me. I was pretty good during the first half of the day but the during the second half I started to get really tired. Being on my feet all day was a little rough and now I have to get used to it all over again. My legs were on fire when I got home. Of course I still got on the treadmill for a half hour so I am pretty proud of that.
  16. Molly have you tried the canned chicken instead of tuna. I like the taste of it alot better. I have been pureeing the heck out of it. Lost another pound down to 259.
  17. I was pretty much just average until the summer before 6th grade. That summer I decided I would rather stay in the hosue and read instead of going out to play. Well I ballooned up and never went back down. I was pretty lucky though, because even though I was very over wieght (probably about 220 in high school) I was never really treated that differently. I played sports and I was pretty much able to keep up with all the thin girls. I never really dated, though I did have one boyfriend who was into fat girls (wierd I know) and that is probaly the only reason I had a boyfriend. Funny how in high school I really thought it was kinda bad but looking back now really I had it pretty good.
  18. I know with my BCBS PPO that a BMI of 35 would be accepted with co-morbidities. I also want to say (don't hold me on this as it was 8 months ago when I heard it) that the education insurance is the best to have becasue there are no pre-surgury requirments such as a supervised diet. I believe the MESSA is educational correct?
  19. When you get a fill you get a little bit at a time. One fill might do it to find the "sweet spot" for one person but another may need a totally different amount in their band for their own personal "sweet spot". It becomes a trial and error thing until you find that one perfect fill that gives you the perfect restriction to lose weight.
  20. Well after my wonderful two week vacation (okay one week of pain and one week of vacation) I am back to work tomorrow. Dang I was really hoping to win the lottery or something so I never had to go back.
  21. I am not wieghing until tomorrow as Monday is my wiegh in day. I do not have a scale at my house because I would drive myself nuts on it. I have had a little bit of solid food. Mostly in the form of very mushy soups. I have also had some chili blended down with a little Water until it would be drinkable through a straw (but I don't use the straw) which is very satisfying. I have also had cream of wheat and hot oat bran watered down a bit. Yogurt, cottage cheese., pretty much any full liquid. One thing is for sure though that even though I am hungry and will be until I get a fill, I cannot eat the massive volume of foods I could before. I get full and it does hurt. I have has to measure my food to make sure I don't get that nasty pain of feeling full. Oh and I have the Isopure too.
  22. I have whatever is the most popular band in the US. Not the big one but the other one. I have no problem speaking up. I am actually in a pretty unique situation since the bariatric coordinator where I had my surgery done is actually used to work in the OR with my Mom (both nurses). So she has known me since I was a little baby. She has been awesome about getting everything taken care of for me and my road to actually getting the band was smooth sailing. SO I will have no problems talking to her or the doctor.
  23. Thanks for the welcome!!!!! I am all for a loss of pounds and gaining of a refund. I am a bit of a band virgin since it has only been two weeks so hopefully some of you veterans can give me some good advice. I am anxiously awaiting my first fill, which will not be until I am at least 4 weeks, since I have virtually no restriction at the moment. I have healed up pretty well and I feel pretty good. Hubby is buying me a treadmill tonight and I am uber excited about that. Never thought I would be one to be excited about a piece of fitness equipment but I really want to get walking and the mall is not doing it for me in this frigid cold weather.
