  1. Hello everyone....I am 46 y/o young and loving it. My only child is grown and traveling the country, I'm single and fancy free. I've been banded since April 2011 and have had my ups and down, but I keep striving to make myself healthy and of course, sexy...lol (in my eyes). I just wanted to say, let's get it in and good luck on your weight loss journey.

  3. Remember the band is a tool and you have to let it work for you. If you are focus, thinking about your eating habits, and exercising, you will have great success. Good luck to you, keep me posted. Remember, be patient...it is not a magic band.
  4. That's funny.....I guess a person can't change after school, huh???
  5. Majority of us falls of the track for whatever reason. Just pick yourself up and think about what you were doing to lose weight. Lapband is only a tool and you have to let the tool work for you. This is not easy and it's definitely not a magic band. Keep your head up, don't be discouraged, and have faith in yourself that you can do it. Please don't harp on the weight gain, it sets you up for a downward spiral.
  6. My hair didn't fall out, it just didn't grow at all. Before I was banded in April 2011, I cut my hair off like Sinead O'Connor (think that's her name). It stayed like that until September, then suddenly it started to grow. It is still short, but I was able to get my hair braided this month. I just hopes it continues to grow.
  7. When I was schedule for my first, had to get 3 cc's taken out because I wasn't able to eat or drink without feeling sick. Should be able to eat solids without difficulty. If it is not your Dr telling u to do liquids for 2 days, then I would say call them for advisement.
  8. U need to call your Dr. right away. U may be too tight, esp if u having trouble with solid foods. Please call your Dr.
  9. I'm up for the challenge, so let me get my last scoop of yogurt ice cream out the freezer.
  10. I receive my last fill on May 24 and have not lost one pound. I have noticed more acid reflux to include throat burning and pain at the top of my stomach. I have also noticed the portal has moved to my navel and its very painful and when I'm at work leaning over the table, I get this "shocking" pain in my navel. I work out everyday and I can even run 20 mins non stop during my 2-3 miles walk. I have noticed that I can eat more than a cup of food, I think I'm up to 2 cups per meal. I don't know what to do, its just frustrating. Help me, please.
  11. thanks for all the encouragement. I am going to the dr on Friday to discuss all the positives and negatives of having the lapband. I have to make a mental note and slowing with my eating, because getting foods stuck is no fun. Today, I will make an effort to exercise and not make any excuses. Try, Try, Try
  12. It is not fun getting food stuck in your chest. Boy, does it hurt and it feels like I have to throw up. It only occurs when I am at work, where everything is rushed and I don't have ample time to eat like I should. So I have decided to split my meal in 2 breaks. Eat protein first and if I am still hungry, then eat my veggies on the next break. I am still struggling with being consistent with exercising.....I am trying to work out at least 4 times a weeks, but I find myself talking myself out of it and then I began to feel guilty. What to do, I say, what to do.
  13. I had thought about it, but I ddn't know if it would work with the lapband. My dr is so blah about what should be my calorie intake. He keeps stressing Protein, protein, protein. A friend of mine wants to go on a buddy system at Weight Watchers. I told her I would think about it, so it would be okay to do WW while banded, huh.
  14. I am just confused about what should I be watching....protein or calorie intake. Maybe it should be both. I want to consistently lose weight, but I having a difficult time as to what to do. Do I need to stay with certain calories or should I just be concerned about getting in the min 60gm protein??? I need some suggestions, feedback.......please help me
  15. Breakfast:: 1 egg overeasy, 1 turkey sausage patty, wheat toast (1/2 piece) with margarine Lunch: Apple, peanut butter, and Chicken salad Dinner: Tilapia, and a spinach salad with eggs Just in case I get hungry: protein shake
  16. I have lost a total of 15lbs without a fill so far, but I am struggling to fight the urge of bad eating habits. I am constantly around food, especially at work. Everywhere I go somebody is eating....uuugggghhh. So I am trying to break the habit of joining in on the eating game. I've noticed lately that I have been so hungry and I am not satisfied after eating. Can't wait for my fill, which is on 5/4/2011; maybe that will help some of my hungry pains. Today, I am going to my nephew's bday party. I hope I can fight urge to say no to something I know I shouldn't eat. I wish myself luck. To be continued.....
  17. Yesterday was my first back at work and it made realize how bad my eating habits were. I struggled all day due to temptations right in my face. I was used to eating on every break, it was like "what do I do now" everybody is eating around me. Chips, sandwiches, candy bars, etc...was easily accessible and I am trying to maintain willpower. I will have to figure other areas I go to for me break instead that darn breakroom. Today is another day and I need to be strong for my journey.
  18. I am still in the mushie stage so let's see: Breakfast: 2 eggs Lunch: chicken noodle Soup and 2 crackers Dinner: Jello, cottage cheese, and boiled egg. Somewhere I do add in Protein shakes to meet the 60 gram min req. One week in the mushie stage, then onto to Phase 3 (meat finally)
  19. My girlfriend had asked me if I wanted to do the buddy system with her. I wasn't for sure if it was going to work since I have been banded. I may try it after I am able to mostly all the foods, I am almost 2 weeks banded with no fill as of yet. Can't wait for the fill and see what happens.
  20. There is no gym that is near to me or even close to my job. Gas is so high right now, who could afford to even go to the grocery store. I got on the scale this am and gain 1 1/2 lbs back. I got to do something about this.
  21. Cream of wheat and eggs for breakfast..yummie
  22. I have all sort of machines, videos, and weights at my disposal, but I can't motivate myself to touch them. How am I going to commit to this, if I commit to getting off my butt and just popping in a Cd and get to moving. Why??? I feel like I am being so lazy and this is uncalled for and I am really mad at myself for this. I remember a time, I couldn't start my without exercising first. I need to figure out what was the motivation. I need to have some type of master plan to get me to start moving and grooving again. HELP I need to be motivated.
  23. Yes, I can eat more than one cup at a time. When I went to the dr, he stated that he likes to the patient's body to heal, so my first fill is on 5/4/2011 (changed from 5/11/2011). Told him I needed the feel ASAP.
  24. Thanks for all the postings so informative to me. I was banded on 4/01/2011 and I don't get my fill until 5/11. Now I know what to expect from now until 5/11. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the scale keeps going in the right directions. Just have to keep a journal of my eating habits.
