(Beer & candy) So Im posting a pic to remind myself how far Ive come and also to share with you all. =) 1st pic was a day before surgery, 2nd was June 5th. (less than 4 months out) in the same outfit .

    DC/MD/VA sleevers

Hi Lexie, How r u? I am looking to have the VSG at the end of the year. I am doing the 6m nutrition program now @ Providence Hospital. I had 2 visits so far, Aug will be my 3rd month. I went to a seminar in Greenbelt that Dr. LoMenzo held. I was interested in Dr. Kligman but he did not do seminars at Greenbelt. I also attended a seminar @ Howard Univ, Dr Fullum, who also worked @ Providence Hosp. Providence Hosp is where I plan to have my procedure w/Dr Mark Rickford. I attended a seminar, also Virginia Hospital Ctr. I had a hard time making a decision, but asked several questions at the seminar and chose Dr Richford. I really wanted to meet Dr Kligman, but I never came to Baltimore. I would like to keep in touch and see how u r doing. I would also like to attend some support group meetings prior to surgery, just to see how everyone's journey is going. Keep me posted. Peace & Blessings to you! Oh @cali1212, Univ of Md with Dr. Kligman and Dr. Lo Mento have support groups. Google univ of md medical center bariatrics, their site has all the info. Also google Johns Hopkins bayview bariatric center, I believe they have support groups too.

    African American Sleevers

Hi All, I think this is wonderful. I know we are all the same but we differ sometimes when it comes to health conditions. I know some medical conditions are more prevelant to Africian Amerians. I am fairly new on the site, and just beginning this journey. I have still not decided on a doctor. I have attended (4) seminars, and now I am trying to make my decision, (based on # of surgeries performed, hospital, how important is the center of excellence award, pre-op, post-op, group mtgs, reviews by other patients of the doctor, and the list goes on). I would like to stay in touch and see how we are progressing throughout this process. (DOINGITFORME)
