  1. Hey Sheila, You're kicking some serious butt on the preop weight loss!!! Nicely done! I had no preop diet so I went on a self impossed one of my own and struggled to lose 10 pounds! With the success you've already had, you'll be a guaranteed sleeve success story! keep up the good work. The 27th will be here before you know it! Hang in there. Mike
  2. I'm doing good - just battling through the gas pains and minor indegestion. It comes and goes and usually only lasts a minute or so. Looking forward to a full night sleep and waking up a new man tomorrow!!!
  3. Makes perfect sense! Thank you very much!!!
  4. I need a favor from one of my July sleeve buds - can someone tell me how to add a ticker to my signature line.
  5. Hey Hansi, Don't worry about the head hunger too much. After your surgery today you won't want a bite of anything. I'm struggling to sip on Water, garorade and tried to have some broth. You won't want to eat anyting for a while! Someone could walk in here and hand me a double bacon cheesburger and I wouldn't touch it. Once you feel nausea after the surgery you won't ever want that to come back.
  6. Best of luck to all of you that are having surgery today! Prayers going up for you!
  7. Hey Wendy Glad to hear you're at home!!!! I can relate to the nausea afterwards - wow that sucked so bad. Today was much easier and the pain and nausea still come and go but are smaller and easier to fight through. It's really nice to be home and to be on the "other side" as so many of you have said. I've often wondered what this day would feel like and now I can tell you it's very exciting. Hang in their Wendy, time marches on and you'll be a week out before you know it. That's what I keep telling mysef.
  8. Hello everyone! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Everything Worked out ok today for surgery. The day started out a 5:30, got to the hospital at 6. Surgery was right at 8 and I was out like a light. Next thing I knew I was in recovery. The next hour was ruff. I was so uncomfortable and nauseous that I couldn't take it. Once the anti nausea drugs and pain killers kicked in I was surviving but miserable. Longest hour of my life it seemed like. Another hour and more pain and I was heading for the room. The rest of the afternoon and evening have been spent sleeping and resting. I've had spurts were I gelt like a million bucks and othe times I thought I was going to puke. It's kinda neat laying here in bed know that this long hard journey is almost complete. No to Move on to the rest of my life. Without the weight.
  9. Thanks Nancy!!! At my preop appointment yesterday, my surgery got bumped up to 8am from 1230 so I am up and about to leave for the hospital. They want me there at 6am. Keep me in your prayers and I will be back to talk to ya all as soon as I can.
  10. Thanks for all the well wishes and hellos from everybody - it's good to be here
  11. Prayers going out - You will all do great!!!! Make sure you get back on here and let us know how it went!
  12. Prayers and well wishes going out to todays Sleevers!!! I'm heading in for a preop appiontment in a few hours. I woke up this morning and it hit me like a ton of bricks! So nervous and so excited that I can hardly take it. Can't wait for tomorrow to get here. My surgery isn't til noon so I'll have plenty of time to freak out in the morning! :D
  13. I've got to be completely honest with you and say - Good for YOU!!! If you went on vacation and only gained 2lbs and ate everything you wanted than in my opinion the Sleeve has proven it's benefit to you. I can't tell you how many vacations I've been on and routinely gain 10-15lbs in a week. You went all out - enjoyed yourself and picked up 2 pounds. No biggie. Live your life knowing that a few times a year you can go all out on a vacation and enjoy yourself - come home and get back on the horse and get on with your life. I would look at it as a blessing.
  14. Hey Wendy - Can't wait to hear all about it!!! Hope you're feeling good!
  15. Sounds like great news all the way around!!! I hope my experience is similiar to yours Keep bringing us the updates, we all need to read them for constant reassurance that we are doing the right thing and it's going to be ok!!!
  16. Hello to all my July Sleeve Buddies out there!!!! I just found this section of the forum! I have spent the majority of my time on the main pages researching and learning everything I can. I'm so excited to find this section though, feels like I have instant friends that understand what I'm going through right at this moment! Getting sleeved on the 7th, nervous, excited and anxious all at the same time. Praying for all of you - please pray for me Best wishes to all the July Firecrackers out there!
  17. Hansi, Asking to be added to your prayer list! I definately need it!
  18. My day is July 7th!!! I can't wait!!!! Please add me to the list! Thanks, Mike
  19. Your experience is exactly what I'm pulling for. Glad to hear it went so well for you!
  20. Didn't think about a drain tube!!! I guess that would limit my ability to go back to work.
  21. I imagine I know how you are feeling at the moment. I'm a July 7th sleever! Best of luck to you on the 6th.
  22. I understand exactly what you're going through!!! I'm in the middle of my preop diet and my surgery is July 7th - Just a few days away. I am really unsure how I will feel after the surgery. I took the following week off work but thats it. I'm hoping to be back to work after a week and a couple of weekends! Wishing you the best of luck.
  23. Hey Big Sexxy, Congrats on your approval!!!!! We have very similiar stats - I'm 5'11" and 350. Looking forward to watching your progress and encouraging you along the way
  24. Best of luck to you on your 30 day adventure towards surgery!!!! I'm just a couple weeks ahead of you - 14 days to go until surgery for me. I can assure you that the time is literally flying by. It's been a long journey but once the date was set it, days just started flying by. I wish you the very best!!!
  25. I can totally relate to what your asking! I've quit 3 times in the past 15 years. Each time I quit I used the step down method. From a pack and a half a day down to 4-5 over a few weeks time, then gave it up. This most recent time I quit for the surgery and because I know it's the right thing to do but deep down inside I still want to smoke. I just refuse to. The main difference this time is that I switched to an E cigarette. The first few days I hated it but then I really started to like it. I used that to slowly stop smoking by waiting an hour or two later each day before I would use it. When I got to the point that I was only using it after dinner I just let it go. I'm sure the desire will always be there and it will be something I'll just have to fight off as the years go by. I'm even realistic enough to know that I will probably smoke again one day and quit again over and over. Keep up the fight and try the E cig. I used SafeCig because the cartridges were disposabale. Didn't want to deal with filling liquids and such each day.
