  1. I tried to like ur comment but the comp isnt loading it! whether its 2 days or a month itll drive you crazy! just call about the records and in a few days call back! welcome to lap band talk and as i said before good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
  2. i would call and ask what med records they are missing and then call the people who havent sent those records in and see what their hold up is. it doesnt mean you wont get approved i know its a waiting game and a pain in the hiney because its something your looking foward to... i dont have your insurance or live where you live but thats the only suggestion i have! good luck!!!
  3. oh im sorry if i made it sound like it is a way to lose more weight thats not how i meant it i was just stating it would be closer to my goal... and he cant tell how much weight its gonna be until it comes off... so i do understand that... he did also say within 10 lbs of my goal im just wondering if im setting my goal to high? its seems that i keep being told not to be disappointed if i dont reach my goal so i feel as if im aiming to high! i guess im just wondering if i should lower my goal and deal with being considered as overweight? and just get the skin removed now?
  4. were you guys at your goal weight when you had your skin removed? i am close to my goal but not there yet the dr said he could remove between 5-10 lbs of skin which would put me even closer to my goal... although im always told dont get your hopes up to be the weight that your expecting... i just want to be in the normal weight range for my height idc if its at the very top... but ive been told this by drs also including the skin removal surgeon im just wondering if i should just get it done now or if i should wait until im closer to goal?
  5. sorry made a mistake multi quote is below
  6. Yes you can shave your tattoo after it is completely healed... I have a total of 18 tattoos and the biggest is on my leg and I do shave! but I also find that I don’t grow much hair on the tattoos as I used to get without the tattoos! also tattoos are only skin deep if you get cut or nicked or poked with a needle the ink wont flow through your blood! like terry said if you get ink poisoning it would be at the time of getting the tattoo and it would be the artist that made a mistake... I don’t know anyone who has ever had ink poisoning though and just about everyone I know has a tattoo... it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen it probably just doesn’t happen often! I would also wait to get one until after the port is repositioned if I were you!
  7. i also use my morning weight but with only bra and undies on... cloths are an extra lb for me and shoes could weigh 1-2 lbs if not more! i mean when i go into the dr.s office i take my shoes and coat or sweatshirt off but have to obviously wear cloths i do however wear the cloths in my closet that weigh the least! but def the best time to weigh yourself is in the am You weigh less in the morning because when your body converts food materials to energy, CO2 and water vapour are released as waste products - and are expelled from the body (that's why when you breath on glass condensation appears). If you think about it - this is happening all night - so a fair amount of water leaves your body. A third of the body's water loss occurs at night - and can amount to about 2 or 3lbs. so after your first morning pee is prob the best time to weigh yourself... i was also told to try to weigh yourself at the same time everyday!
  8. checking in at 182 this week only down one pound but i guess a loss is a loss at least its not a gain!
  9. did you talk to your insurance company before you started the lap band journey? if so did they tell you right away that it wouldnt be covered? also are you able to tell me what plan you have this way i can ask her if she has the same plan?
  10. thanks guys!
  11. a friend of mines has aetna and called to see about wls they initialy said they couldnt find info on it and then said that they dont cover it at all is this true or did this person not look into it enough? or does it depend on the type of plan she has?
  12. calm down girls! we all have our different ways of doing things and our own opinions... some people carb cycle and loose weight that way and other people can do it without carb cycling and congrats to those who have lost the weight without any hurdles or points where you didnt gain or didnt get stuck at a weight! but thats not everyone on this site! everyone is different! ive never carbed cycled but i have had my high carb days for sure! its about monitoring the things we eat and both ways your monitoring right? these things are not worth fighting over we are here to support each other this forum was to support a person who had 1 slice of pizza! carb cycling or not none of us are perfect!

  21. I’m just wondering because ive been struggling for the last few days how do you know if your band has slipped or if you have a leak? im hungry a lot more then what ive been in the past... I don’t think im feeling as much restriction but I also avoid those foods that get stuck so its possible that im able to eat more because of that. I have a doctors appointment on Friday im just wondering if these are complications that are possible and that I should bring up... or if its all in my head or maybe ive been eating to much and stretched the pouch? or maybe its just time for another fill??? any feedback is appreciated! thanks for listening!
