  1. GOOD JOB!! that is so awesome!! Keep up the good work! Kelly
  2. Does anyone know if there is a support group in the Sacramento area? I have Kaiser for my insurance, but I guess it doesn't have to be thru them. I just do not want to have to drive all the way to Richmond (2 hrs) to go to their class. Thanks! Kelly
  3. I agree with FOXBINS. I can't see that happening. Just my opinion tho. Kelly
  4. WOW!! THAT IS FANTASTIC!!! good for you!! I hope that i get there that fast. I am being sleeved May 9th and have lost a lot pre-op, so will need to lose another 65lbs.I would love to do it in 6 months!! Keep up the good work!! Kelly
  5. unjury.com is where i buy my Unjury stuff. I am not sure that you can buy it in any store. Good luck to you!! Kelly
  6. I just can not get into the greek yogurt either. Maybe after I am sleeved I will like it! Some people's tastes change I hear. It has so much protein and I have tried to like it, but just can't! Kelly
  7. I do not think it is protein either. I have not had the surgery yet, but I can tell you that when I did WW, they encourged healthy oils. Olive, flaxseed, canola, safflower and sunflower are all healthy oils. I bought flaxseed oil in a bottle and put a teaspoon on my oatmeal every morning or in my smoothie, couldn't taste it at all. I then used olive oil on my meat at night. 2 tsp a day was all it took to stop and keep my hair from falling out! Also made it really shiny. Try it, it just might work!! Kelly
  8. That is my biggest fear!! I am only taking a week off work and am so worried that I will not be healed and ready to go back! I read lots of people are and can and so many take like a month off and still feel bad. I have a desk job too and deal with pain really well. I would like to know if there is a "SECRET" to people healing faster. Is it the walking, vitamins, and protein??? I plan on following those guidelines to a "T" and hopeully, I will be in good shape after my week. Best of luck to you!! Kelly
  9. I am so glad everything worked out for you. I too, remember you being freaked out about working at the same place you were having the surgery. Glad everything went well and you are home doing good. Keep us posted on your recovery! Kelly
  10. I am super thankful that my Dr. is so cautious. That is one of the reasons that I love him!! He would never operate on me if it weren't safe and I know that!! He did email me back yesterday and put my worries to rest. He told me that the GI dr. is doing the upper g.i. just as a precaution and I shouldn't be worried that there is something wrong with me. It is more for "real time" images for my surgeon to see so when he operates, he will know how my esophagus is working! He said that the GI dr. also noted in my file that the surgery that is scheduled for May 9th can continue. He made me feel a lot better and I am thankful that I emailed him. The radiology dept. called this afternoon to schedule the fluoroscopy for April 26th. YAY!! That will be the last test. I am so happy. Thanks for all of your answers! Kelly
  11. Hello and welcome!! You will find all of your answers here!! Everyone is so helpful and nice. I am being sleeved May 9th and can't wait! Best of luck to you. Keep us posted...and no more lurking!! Kelly
  12. I am going thru Kaiser Richmond and Dr. Fisher is my surgeon. May 9th is my date and I have a nutrition class and physical to do next week. I am psyched and scared!! I know it will all be worth it when it is said and done. I also have to have hernia repair done and am going to be tore up! Good job so far LaChica!!! Kelly
  13. My dr. said nothing but walking for 6 weeks. Don't want to rip staple line!! Kelly
  14. I am sure if she had the surgery she would have no show. I am sure the show is paying her BIG money!! Just sayin! Kelly
  15. LOL!! I hope that is true that the sleeve makes your butt fall off!! Mine needs to go! Kelly
  16. Hello and welcome! You have come to the right place for support and to get all of your questions answered. People here are very friendly and accepting! Read the boards and get to know things. That is the best advice I can give. I do not see any reason why you would be turned down. You meet any insurance's guidelines. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!! Kelly

  20. I bought a couple months supply of the Bariatric Advantage stuff. After that, I will just use stuff from Costco. I have read that others use them and their blood work is good. If mine isn't, then I will switch back. Kelly

  23. True. THere are laws that protect your privacy and you do not have to give specifics. Just say you are having some medical issues and need to be out for a while. They can not pry. It is against the law. Hope this helps! Kelly
  24. I was just going to suggest eggface! She rocks and has so many receipes out there! You are sure to find something that you love. Best of luck to you. Kelly
  25. Hello and welcome!! I personally do not know what insurance you have, but I have Kaiser and live in N. California. They have a lot of requirements and as fast as you can reach goal weight and get thru your testing, you can have your surgery!! We are not required in N. Cali to do the 12 weeks of Options Classes like S. Cali is, thank goodness, but we still have to do a lot of stuff. I feel it is great that they make us take classes and meet nuts and learn stuff. That way we are prepared!! We know what is going to happen and how to eat afterwards. No surprises!! It has taken me a little over 5 months to get thru the program. I am scheduled for May 9th. YAY!! But, it has all been worth it. I have one more class next week to go to and one more test to do and I am done!! Best of luck to you. You will find answers to everything here and the people are really nice and supportive!! Kelly
