  1. You will be able to eat and drink more the further out you go. Getting your liquids in at this point is challenging. That is why it is imerative that if nothing else, you drink your fluids, even if you can't eat!!! Drink WATER!!! Don't take your Vitamins on an empty stomach, that will make you feel sick too!! My vitamins were making me horribly sick and I didn't understand why!! That was it! I started eating first and then I was fine. You might also want to try eating before you take any pills, maybe your sleeve is just super sensitive. Are you alergic to milk? Maybe the Protein drinks are agreeing with you?? Theses are all things for you to take into consideration. If you aren't drinking enough, the nausea could also be because you are dehydrated. Be careful with that!! SIP SIP SIP!! If you don't get better, call your dr. Kelly
  2. My nut said that baby food is perfectly fine during the pureed stage. For no more of it than you can eat, it will be o.k. However, have you ever tasted it??? NASTY!! No wonder babies spit the crap out!! LOL You are better off just pureeing whatever it is you cook. That way, it will taste like your food, the texture will just be foreign to you. AND just put gravy in it to puree it, NOT WATER!! That will lessen the flavor. When I was on that stage, I loved turkey meatloaf pureed. I just threw some in my magic bullet with some chicken gravy and wizzed it up. Pot roast and carrots are really good pureed too with beef gravy!! YUUM and SOOOO DELISH!! It was like heaven in a spoon. Kelly
  3. WOW!! Don't you have a friend or someone else that can help you??? I would pay a babysitter before I would want someone like that "HELPING" me!! Sorry. If I were there, I would help you! Kelly
  4. Here is mostly what I ate on mushy's thinned refried beans wendys chili scrambled eggs w/cheese bananas baked potatoes/yams soft cheeses like string, laughing cow, babybell ricotta bake got to worldaccordingtoeggface.com for recipe (so yummy) foster farm's turkey meatballs put a little gravy on them if they get too dry, but they are really moist!! lunchmeat with laughing cow cheese spread on cottage cheese Hope this helps! Kelly
  5. Are you taking a PPI? Acid can make you feel horrible and if you are not taking Nexium, Prilosec, Zegrid, Aciphex or something, you really should ask your dr. for some! Kelly
  6. You have lost 25lbs in a month. That is AWESOME!!! Your body needs to catch up. That is what is going on!! That is all. I did the same thing and it is frustrating, but know that is alot of weight to lose in a short peroid of time !! Celebrate those lbs and know that you WILL start losing again. FOllow your dr.'s guidelines and you will be fine! Kelly
  7. You look AWESOME!! Good job! Kelly
  8. We get coupons here at work for cheap tickets. Next time I see them in the break room, I will let you know and then we can all plan to meet there! FUN FUN!! Kelly
  9. My nut said the same thing about straws and caffeine. The reason behind them are straws can cause gas and caffeine will slow down your healing. I used a straw after about 3 weeks and have not had issues. I love straws!! Also wasn't supposed to chew gum, but I do! I did NOT have caffeine until yesterday and I was 8 weeks out on Monday! I had an iced tea from Starbucks with a straw in it!!!!!!!!!! I am such a rebel!! Kelly
  10. Once you are on solid foods you should be able to take citracal vitamins. They are Calcium Citrate. They also have the petities if you can not swallow the regualr ones. I was cleared for all pills once I could eat. Ask your dr. tho! Kelly
  11. I lost 55lbs in 5 1/2 months doing the pre-op diet that Kaiser gave me. Kelly
  12. That would be a GREAT idea!! See how much I KNOW about California!! I didn't even know there was a Six Flags there!! Kelly
  13. I am sure that you will be fine! However, you really should follow your dr.'s plan for you. Kelly
  14. I took my meds the night of in the hospital. My dr.'s rule was nothing bigger than an M&M until soft foods at 4 weeks out. Then I could swallow anything! Kelly
  15. Oh, I thought ya'll were in San Fran? I am lost. AND, I just thought that the reason the people here weren't going was it was too far. It is a 2 hour drive for us Sac people and I figured that Vacaville is 1/2 way, so we could all meet in the middle!! I am more familar with that area too!! I go there to see my Doc sometimes so I don't have to drive all the way to San Fran. He does visits at the Vacaville Kaiser! Just an idea. Let me know! Kelly
  16. I was and am very lucky. I had the Cheif surgeon at my facility and could not have been in better hands!! I followed his advice to the letter. Lost tons of weight pre-op, which I believe made my surgery and recovery MUCH MUCH smoother!! I went back to work in 7 days! My only regret is that they did not have this surgery when I was much younger! I am 36 and would love to have about 1/2 of my life back! Kelly
  17. I agree 100% about keeping it off! I CAN and HAVE lost LARGE amounts of weight in the past, my most being 130lbs once. BUT, I NEVER could keep it off!! Hence, my sleeve!! I also agree with Rootman, delete that selfish ass!! You don't need negative people bringing you down!! That is EXACTLY why the only person that knows about my surgery is my husband!!! I told NOBODY for that exact reason!! People are so negative and IGNORANT that they just talk outta their ass!! It makes me so angry!! I didn't want people bringing me down and talking me out of this. I knew what I wanted to do and I was doing it! I have totally put my diabetes and high blood pressure in remission coming off the operating table and have lost a whole lotta weight too! I look and feel better than I have in years and have less than 30 lbs till goal! I really don't think this is an "EASY WAY OUT", it is probably harder than ANYTHING I have ever done in my life! Emotionally and physically. I have to work very hard for every pound that I lose. I can't just sit on the couch and eat friggen ding dong and the weight just magically fall off just becase I had my stomach removed. I eat less than 800 calories a day AND I exercise over an hour everyday! That is how it is done FOR ME! EASY, I dobut it! I chose not to exercise yesterday because it was so damn hot here and I was really tired when I got home (anemic). I ate 746 calories for the day and this morning, I gained .4 lbs! That is what happens when I "TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT!!!" So tell your friend to go fly a kite! Kelly
  18. If it is just Irene and I that are going is it because it is so far of a drive and nobody wants to drive that far??? If so, lets make it fair for everyone and meet in Vacaville! That way it will be like an hour drive for everyone! That is not TOO far to drive for a meetup! AND maybe more will attend! What do you all think about that? Kelly
  19. Maintenance scares the $#*& outta me! I have NEVER done that!! I have always lost large amounts of weight and then gained it all back. I could never keep it off. That is why I got sleeved! I am so afraid of maintenance. I have about 28lbs to go till I get to that point, so hopefully by that time, you can give me some pointers!! Kelly
  20. I am SOOOO VERY HAPPY for you! That is sooo awesome! Weight is really just a number anyway. If you feel good, look good and like yourself! Who gives a rat's ass what that stupid scale says! I am proud of you for being able to say that you are happy with you regardless of that number! Don't ever let it define you!! Hugs, Kelly
  21. Were you sent home with any pain meds? Those should help. If not liquid tylenol is good! Kelly
  22. So, bad news ya'll. I am not going to be able to come on Saturday! My husband had back surgery last November and was doing really well and now for the past couple months has been really bad again! He has a buldging disc that is sitting on his siatic nerve and he can hardly walk! NO GOOD!! He has been trying to get in to see his surgeon for the past 6 weeks and has had 3 appointments cancelled because his dr. is a neurosurgeon and surgery takes presedents over appointments so his appointments have been cancelled and re-scheduled ALOT!! Finally, today we had an appointment and again was cancelled. I went thru the roof!! His dr. is seeing paitents on Saturday to make up, so I took one of them and it interfers with my schedule to see you all, but I HAVE to go with him! I am so sorry. Maybe we can meet another time! Irene, I will bring you the Unjury at our next Sac meet up! Kelly
  23. HA HA!! Good for you...........STUD!!! Kelly
  24. I have not had any issues with food since being sleeved. Other than in the beginning, some solid foods felt stuck for me. When I first tried chicken, cottage cheese and eggs they all felt that way! Now, everything is fine. I think it was because I was still too swollen to eat them! Kelly
  25. That was me too!! I would take a shower and wash my hair and have to sleep for 3 hours! LOL I didn't have bleeding from surgery, but did become anemic from surgery tho. The reason was I had finished my peroid 2 days before (and I am a heavy bleeder), 3 days after surgery, I started again!! YAY ME! I bled for another week! I was so pale and exhausted. I felt awful. I went to my primary care dr. and he took some more of my blood LOL and told me that I was severly anemic. Gave me some Iron pills to take and in 2 days, I was feeling so much better. I am taking 325 mg of Ferruous Gluconate twice a day and what a difference it makes!! Get you some, with the advice of your dr. of course! I also take 2 of the BA iron chews at bedtime. You will also feel better when you can eat more. That helps too! I am 8 weeks out now and can go all day! Good luck. You will feel better in time! Kelly
