  1. I agree with all the comments. Eggs just don't taste the same to me after VSG. I eat them most mornings scrambled w 2%cheese for low carb and more protein and can stomach them if just right (:)but some days just can't do it. But right after surgery Nooooooo! Made me hurl. Lol
  2. You will have fears and doubts but this is something you Can succeed at! We have all been in your place and looking back 2 years in one week, I don't regret One Thing. All good! Trust your Dr and yourself.
  3. I am so terribly sorry for you and your family. My prayers go out to you. You will be able to have your surgery soon I am sure.
  4. Okay, 50s, I have been trying to RELose 10-12 lbs! Ain't happening. Low carb doesn't seem to work for my body anymore. 2 lbs down 2 lbs up over last month!! I am not exercising so I guess that is the other option. I can't seem to get any to come off now that I have been on maintenance so to speak for over a year ( 2 yrs out). Any thoughts?
  5. I'm with you! Started crying when Lexi died!!! I was so wanting Mark and her to get back together. As for throwing up- been there!!
  6. Okay, it is NOT easy to re-lose! lol Anybody else have trouble losing again after maintaining/gaining a few lbs over a period of months? I've been low-carbing (pretty stringently) for the last two weeks and I lose a 1/2 lb, gain a 1/2 lb, lose a lb/ gain a lb!! GRR I want to lose the 10 lbs I've gained in the last year! Really havent gained any weight at all since about December. And I have my two year surgiversary date coming up (and Dr. appt!) and would like to be back at goal. Any ideas? Low carb used to really work well for me but doesn't seem to be doing much now that my body has kinda reached a "set point."
  7. I was back at work in a week - really low energy and very tired but made it fine. You can do it!!! Go for it!!
  8. Oh yes'. 10 YEARS after a hysterectomy and 7 mis after VSG hot flashes hit!! Can't figure that one out since there are no organs in my body!!!! L
  9. I do agree with this too. Otherwise, I tend to eat sleep and breath food thoughts BUT, at 22 mos out I do know that if you eat too much of slider foods. ( chips, carbs, etc) you WILL gain. I reached goal without hardly any effort at about 9 mos then stayed pretty much the same for another 6 mos or so gradually adding tooany snack foods and regained about 10-15 lbs. back down 5 And working on rest. Cutting carbs and snacks. But I can tell you it DOESNT come off easily once regained! Your body says nope! ????
  10. Also, it DOES get better later. I can drink any water now
  11. I had the same issue. Also made me nauseous. Not sure why but I added crstal light and was able to drink more. ????
  12. Okay I'm going to ask since I can't tell by your post ( and I really want to agree). Male or female?
  13. Love that line in bold!!!! The "dance" Good luck to you on your NEW DANCE!! It's exciting!
  14. Isn't that ,funny? Think we are losing too fast!! Only issue with Quick weight loss is muscle loss which I experienced AND sagging skin is worse with quick weight loss. Especially face and neck in older individuals ( I am 58! ????) but hey, the weight and health issues are a moot point now!!!! Enjoy!
  15. All I can say is I am extremely jealous of all you guys who have been off 3 mos, 7 weeks, etc. I was off 3 days and everybody here at my office was on my journey w me! Lol. I DIDN'T tell anyone but my top boss until later though. Good luck.
  16. Yaaaaay to you!!!! It feels so good to see that scale go down instead, doesn't it? ????
  17. Whoa. If I were you I would not do bread this early and only RARELY. Hard to get out of ye habit of you start it and to really lose all you want to I would stick to very little bread. I'm at 23 mos out and still try to limit bread as much as possible. Good luck to you ????
  18. Go Lila! You will get there! We are all in this journey together.
  19. That Is Utterly incredible. "Outsders" ???? do not understand how wonderful these NSV moments are! Yaay to you!
  20. Yes that does help. Like I said I am about 23 mos out. Lost 100 lbs and reached my goal 250 to 150. I am 5'7" so good goal. I think I should have probably just kept strictly trying to lose maybe another 10 lbs but really jus started maintenance and have done pretty well. Got in bad habit of too many sweets and carbs so I am working on reversing that now. Restriction is still good IF I do what supposed to Protein first. Still can only eat 2-2 oz of beef chicken and other dense protein. Have gained about 10 lbs but think my body likes it here and still within normal range bmi and my clothes size 8-10. I do need to exercise more but .... ????. Just came home from Dallas for wknd and Talbots, Macys, Ross and Marshall's made my wallet MANY $$$ lighter. Lol. Such a joy to walk into a store and pull those clothes off the rack It really helps all of us to know and hear from success stories that are YEARS out!!!
  21. Up to you as far as artificial sweeteners but I use crystal light exclusively and have since early on. No problems at 2 years out and told by Dr could use
  22. How much did u lose and now at 3 years what are you finding about maintenance, re-gain, restriction etc? I am right at 2 years now.
  23. I could not comfortably eat ANY bead til about a year out. I can now eat all kinds in small Amts. Usually can eat half sandwich or burger with usually one side of the bread. But, boy, earlier on I had some really "slimy" moments after ANY food.
  24. I'm with M2G. I'm 22 mos out and today I had a half In N Out Burger (my 1st!!!) with one bun removed and a very few fries for lunch. I can eat much more (and did for a few weeks) of slider food- cookies, crackers, candy etc. which is where you REALLY have to practice self control but to this day can still only eat a very small amt of dense protein (chicken, beef, etc). So you must eat good food first. The restriction is still there and with your guidelines WORKS! But it IS only a tool and once you get to goal and maintain you still have choices that must be up to you. I've gone back to watching carbs closely and don't intend to regain!
