    Feeling Hunger?

I am 3+ years out and I have felt hunger since the first week. It's easily satisfied, but always returns.

    Belching?

Yep...I belch all the time. I have noticed it is particularly bad if I eat to full or eat sugary stuff. I've just accepted it as the way it is!

    Attention Veteran Sleevers!

I am 3+ years out a doing great. Eastting small portions is not hard because I am not hungry, although I still have to watch what I eat because I can accidentally eat too much and get over full if I am not paying attention. It's not a plesant feeling and I try to avoid it. I can basically eat everything in moderation. After surgery I got down to 125, which is really too thin for me. Even though I got a lot of negative feedback about being "too thin," I didn't worry about it because most people gain a little back and sure enough, I seem to have settled at 135 over the last year, which works well for my frame. I have no issues maintaining my weight without exercise (I've had some unrelated injuries this year making exercise difficult). I don't regret surgery for a moment. Cherice

    If no NAIDS...then what?

Talk to your regular doctor about what they would recommend. There are lots of people who can't take NSAIDS for various reasons.

    2 days till op

The first three days were rough for me and then it got way better. Everyone is different though.

    Protein Shake

it is truly a matter of personal taste. I tried and ton and the only one I could tolerate was The Optimum 100% Whey Protein (gold standard). It was 24 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbs.

    What to Wear there ?

I wore loose sweats and a sweatshirt to surgery and the same home. While I was in the hospital I wore the gown and I did bring a robe and slippers for walking the halls. I only brought one small bag with underwear and a magazine that i never felt well enough to read.
  8. The meds actually made me sick. I felt way better when they stopped them.

I need to drop 25 lbs right now

I put myself on a mostly liquid diet and the weight came off very fast. I did protein shakes twice a day and a salad with some kind of chicken or turkey. make sure you are getting a good shake that has very little sugar and lots of protein (all shakes are not equal). Drink lots of water and take vitamin supplements. I also ate a banana a day to keep up my potassium. You can do it!

    Eating before surgery

If you are going to have a farewell to your favorite foods party, I'd recommend doing it sooner rather than later. It does take your body a couple of days to process out all the fatty foods and you don't want that in your system for surgery. As long as your doctor doesn't object, eat all your favorite foods and enjoy!
  11. Find a protein shake you can tolerate. I spend the first couple of weeks on broth and protein shakes. It would take me all day to get down one shake. I wouldn't be too concerned with food.

    spanx everyday

I did wraps before and after surgery. Oddly, I noticed results in the wraps before, but saw almost no improvement after. Even the person doing the wrap commented on it. So, I haven't been back. I do wear spanx or control top nylons under my clothes a lot, but not necessarily every day.
  14. Congratulations! keep up the good work.

    For The Post-Op Veterans!

These questions are always so hard to answer because no two people are exactly alike. I am two years out and I CAN eat anything in moderation, but it took me a long tme to get here. It is just in the last six months that I could really eat a traditional sandwich and even still it needs to be on thin sliced bread. There is no way I could eat a hoagie roll. My friend had surgery nine months after me and within a month was eatting more food then me and things I could not even imagine eatting. Everyone is different.
